    NO, 5v needs a voltage regulator as khakedon method.

    3v is right there, its impossible you couldnt do that, just try seriously.

    Seriously.

    Please.

    Dear Player 1 :
    I already mentioned that i am using voltage regulator LM1117T as khalkedon method , instead of soldering the 3.3 v in the mainboard " i really tried but just seems so small and i was afraid to damage one of the two SMD near the point "
    so , now i am using a different wall charger with output 5 v / 1 amp , using the LM1117T regulator now the input to the drive is 3.3 voltage , i tested it Eject/Insert and now working good ,

    thanks for everyone tried to help me till i finished my DMC .

    cobra ode swap disc for ps3 superslim v5.10b updated to 2.4 firmwire
    first in cobra.cfg delete everything enter only this
    manager.type=browser
    eject.on_selection=1
    eject.add_menu=1
    manager.on_eject=1
    bypass.4.55=1
    games.encrypted=1
    bypass.delay=12000

    i delete manager iso this is maybe not necesery, follow cobra ode baypass 4.55 v1.3 , burned swap iso with imgburn on traxdata BD-R, and using smack down vs row 2008 original disc
    when you burn iso swap disc there will show nothing on explorer that is not consern

    I just went to my local eletronic shop.. they only had this switch:

    [IMG]

    It's the same, but.. 4 circuits...

    Can onyone tellme how cross the pins to make it work? i will try to read them with my voltimeter, but.. just to be sure and not break the ps3 xD

    Thanks to all!

    [IMG]

    Just to be sure, i can cross it like the 3 circuits one? i looked with my voltimeter and.. i think it's ok, but.. i prefer to ask before doing anything xD

    Thanks!

    Guys, i got a problem :( I did everything as @khalkedon did in his video-tutorial(before it became private) but something is wrong and i can't realize what. I picked the input from the cobra-powercable exactly as in the video and used a resistor L1117T IC 3.3V to reduce output voltage and i connected it as follow(left pin:ground from cobra power cable to switcher; center pin: output voltage to switch; right pin:input voltage). I connected the switcher and it does work, i mean i can expell and insert disc via the switcher but my ps3 does get stuck after few second trying reading the disc on the xmb. I tried running on pass-trough mode and and disc doesn't ever get recognized but this time ps3 won't get stucked, instead once i run on emulation mode after 2seconds of my ps3 loading the xmb it get stucked. What could the problem be?
    i'm running 4.65 on ps3 2k
    thanks for attention

    Little update, since i'm forced to turn off my ps3 by leaving the electricity, i wanted to do one more test so i spent more time on the Error window(the one which ask you to performs many checks to see what got broken and what not) and then i went to xmb, which instantly get stucked, so the problem isn't the loading of the disc(i guess)
    Anyway when i insert the disc i can't hear the disc loading. Could it be the resistor i have used?
    i bought this one: http://www.ebay.it/itm/280930961832?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
    and here i link the connections i did :

    Thanks for you attention, best regards

    Hi
    I'm interesting about this extra switch mode because as explain above : the "normal" mode to change the game later,
    without rebooting or switch off the console.
    We don't need to remove 8 pin FFC cable from drive motor PCB to PS3 motherboard. It means 3 volt can find on drive motor PCB, someone can confirm?

    the blue wire are "sensors ground line" by cutting this track
    and putting a switch on it you activate or deactivate all disc presence sensors
    (disc present and tray in/out motor)

    3 volts is wired outside, directly from the ps3 main board to the switch.
    you can connect the flat ribbon with this mod, 3v is always present on the motor pcb
    for work in "normal mode".

    First; great thanks for all people who shared their experiences in this post.
    I’m interested for the paperworld’s xtraswitch; I’ve tried ; tested and doing some modifications.
    These modifications are:
    -The location of 3,3 Volts on the PCB motor driver.
    -Use of the ON/ON 2 positions 3 DPDT toggle switch instead of 4 DPDT.

    Now we can see in the pictures below the 3,3Volts on the motherboard is connected on the pin N°06 of 8 pin FFC connector.
    In this mode the 8 pin FFC cable SAME SIDE between the motherboard and the PCB motor driver is always connected. It means the 3,3Volts is also present on the pin N°6 of 8 pin FFC connector of the PCB motor driver.

    The final result is verified and tested and work fine with the config below.

    -bypass.4.55=1
    -games.encrypted=1
    -eject.on_selection=1
    - eject.add_menu=1
    - manager.on_reboot=1
    - eject.delay=2000
    -bypass.delay=15000
