Hi, I havent been on the Wii for must be almost a year now and was wondering is it ok / safe to update still via the Network update?

I have an Original WiiKey installed with I think the 1.9 firmware (going to check this)

Also whats the latest WiiKey Firmware and where can I get it? Cant see it on the WiiKey site

    Thanks

Wouldnt recommend it, what sys-menu are you on now?

4.2 official update blocks certain aspects e.g. region free and includes a risk of bricking because it updates the bootloader so not even bootmii can fix it (except restore with a programmer).

The latest update to work well with chips is system menu 4.1. This can be installed by find the correct wads (games are the best) and then simply install IOS 60 and the system menu using wad manager.

Then update everything else using WIISCU from wiibrew.org and download any other IOS wads for games (all old system menu IOS are stubs) using DOP-IOS.

Do a bootmii as boot2 backup first just in case.
