O'Connor from Bungie has revealed that the team has Halo plan that goes out at LEAST six years and ties Halo IP together across platforms such as comic books and the novels.

<blockquote>As for Master Chief, odds are he will be seen again. "I think that (his) fate, Cortana's fate and the identity of that giant, dark planet at the ending (on the game's hardest skill level) — that's a spoiler — are probably big mysteries that would be irritating if they were just cliffhangers," O'Connor says.

"We do have a plan that goes out at least six years," he says. "Eventually, it will become very apparent that there is a plan for the way the canon all ties together and the way the comic books and the novels all tie together."</blockquote>

Beyonce has revealed that she 'really loves' Wii Fit and is keen to get involved with video games. She noted that if she did do a game, it would incorporate dance and performance into it as well as fitness.

<blockquote>"I'd like to get involved in video games, since I really love Wii Fit. I think it would be a great idea to incorporate choreography, because, for me, my workout is way more fun when it involves dancing, as opposed to running on a boring treadmill," Beyonce revealed.

She continued, setting out her vision for the title: "So I would love to do some kind of fitness game but incorporate dance and performance into it. I think a lot of women would enjoy that."</blockquote>

Sony's Jack Tretton has stated that sales of the PS3 have sky-rocketed since the launch of the SLIM. The new SLIM version has sold 1 million units in the US in just three weeks since its launch day.

<blockquote>Jack Tretton, Pres., CEO Sony Computer Entertainment America told Forbes.com this week that sales for the Playstation 3 have skyrocketed since a late Aug. price cut.
Last month the U.S. game division said that the new PS3 Slim has sold 1 million units in three weeks of availability.

To broaden the retail presence of the device, the company will try to present the multi-functional PS3 in several areas of a retail store.

"You'll find Playstation 3 not only in the gaming aisle this holiday season, you'll see it where home theater is sold, you'll see it where Blu-ray is sold," Tretton said in a Forbes.com interview.</blockquote>

Phil Spencer of MS has taken something of a subtle jab at the delayed release of Gran Turismo 5 by declaring that Forza 3 is the only racing sim shipping this generation.

<blockquote>Phil Spencer, corporate VP and head of Microsoft's worldwide studios, is apparently keen to take a jab at Sony and Polyphony Digital while promoting Turn 10's Forza Motorsport 3.

When responding to a question about developing and shipping high quality exclusive games in either their first or second party studios, Spencer responds to Gamsutra:

"Absolutely. And to ship them! That's an important part of our strategy. Look at Forza shipping next month: the definitive racing sim this generation. You could say it's the only racing sim that's shipping this generation."

Polyphony Digital's Kazunori Yamauchi recently commented that the pressure from Sony to release Gran Turismo 5 was difficult to bear. Gran Turismo 5 is now set for a March 2010 release in Japan. </blockquote>

Looks like the dollar pulling power of Halo is still there as it has been revealed that the latest Halo 3: ODSt has managed to generate over $125 million in a period spanning a month.

<blockquote>You'd think after becoming the third fastest selling game on the Xbox 360, Halo 3: ODST would slow its pace, well according to some reports, not only is the game still to this day flying off store shelves, it's proving to be a cash cow for Microsoft and Bungie. The game thus far has generated over $125 million in sales and it hasn't been out for a month, giving even more evidence why the Halo franchise is a force is be reckoned with.</blockquote>

Gamespot has confirmed that it will get a new video review up of Uncharted 2 as they accidentally provided too many spoilers in their original review. But don't worry, GS says despite their hiccup that UC 2 will still provide plenty of surprises.

<blockquote>Hey Guys, We're working on getting a new
version of this video review up minus that first clip right now. Having played through the game myself I don't think it's quite as big a spoiler as it appears to be to someone who hasn't got the game yet, but we're moving to change it as quickly as possible anyway.

Apologies to any of you who feel like this might hamper your enjoyment of the game at all, but there are still *plenty* of surprises waiting for you.</blockquote>

The MD of an independent UK retailer has branded that the new PSP Go will 'fail miserably'. And he's not mildy certain of this fate, rather he's in his own words '99 percent certain' it will fail.

<blockquote>Revealing his views on the newly released digital handheld, Don McCabe said: "My own personal opinion is that it's a no-go. I've been to a number of presentations to see if there's anything there and I don't feel it'll go anywhere to be honest.

"I'm 99.9 per cent sure it's going to fail miserably, in which case it's going to put back other potential people coming into that digital space."

This failure could be a positive for retailers of course, who stand to lose out on sales of software and trade-ins if digital sales completely take over from boxed ones. "From a retailers point of view the PSPgo is a good idea," he said.</blockquote>

<strong>MaxConsole Review: FIFA 10 </strong>

The new football season has established itself and the most recent transfer window has closed. Therefore now comes the perfect time for the release of FIFA 10 from EA Sports. It’s fair to say that FIFA 09 ‘stole’ the crown from the PES series as it produced a top quality simulation of football while Konami struggled to innovate on their flagging franchise. With FIFA 10 EA are attempting to retain their crown as king of footie series and in the process ensure the demise of PES.

<center><img src="http://www.maxconsole.net/content_img/fifa10review33.jpg"></center></a>

Rather than severely re-inventing the FIFA wheel, EA has attempted to make a number of key additions and improvements over FIFA 09. The fact that there is now custom set piece options, ‘defender urgency’ and a new jostling system in which stronger players have a greater chance to barge weaker players off the ball are all part of EA’s quest for...

A man from Florida has filed a law-suit against Sony over their recent v3.0 firmware update. The suit alleges that the firmware caused his PS3 to malfunction and requires an 'expensive fix'.

<blockquote>A Florida man filed a class action lawsuit against Sony Computer Entertainment America last week, claiming that PlayStation 3's recent firmware 3.0 upgrade caused consoles to "malfunction," requiring an expensive fix.

A complaint filed by lead plaintiff John Kennedy, and originally unearthed by Courthouse News, claimed that "thousands of Sony PS3 video game owners who downloaded a system software update required by Sony found that the update caused their PS3 units to malfunction and actually damaged the hardware on many units." The suit claimed that Sony is charging $150 to repair PS3s with "sustained hardware damage" from the update.

Sony released a major update to the PS3's firmware in early September, which added some new functionality and features to the console. Days...

As part of his promotional activity for FIFA 10, Wayne Rooney has admitted that he regularly plays games after training for a good few hours. And apparently his wife is pretty supportive of his habit and leaves him in peace to play.

<blockquote>"I'll mostly play as Man Utd and a lot of mates I play online with will be Liverpool or Everton. I suppose I get used to seeing myself in a computer game. I shout at myself a lot on screen but I never substitute myself. That wouldn't be right." His devotion to the game is telling as we go head to head, with him as England and me as my native Scotland.</blockquote>

More fighting talk from the Forza 3 camp as their product manager has exclaimed that their racer beats Gran Turismo 5 on a lot of features. He noted it is these features that really take Forza really to the next level!

<blockquote>EGTV: How do you reckon Forza 3 stacks up against GT5?

"We've seen it on the floor, it's a good looking game, in terms of the content feature by feature, you know, I believe we beat them on a lot of the features as well our 400 hundred cars, they're fully built cars, full interiors, uh, fully damageable and deliveries just to mention that user created - user generated content really takes our game to the next level."

The guy's pretty confident in speech and according to him GT5 has nothing on Forza Motor Sport 3, which will be out exclusively for the Xbox 360 on October 23rd 2009. You know what's strange? I have this feeling GT5 fans are laughing their heads off, why? I have no clue, just a feeling. There's nothing to scoff at though, because so...

The studio head of the Gran Turismo 5 team has revealed that the pressure from Sony to release GT 5 is nearing unbearable. He noted that the content is all well and good but the pressure is really on for the delivery dates.

<blockquote>In an interview with Meristation, the studio's head Kazunori Yamauchi reveals that the pressure from Sony to release the game has at times been unbearable. In response to whether Sony pressured the studio on the game, Yamauchi-san replied:

"Not in terms of content, but the pressure really, if we can call it that, of the delivery dates are sometimes difficult to bear."

The relationship doesn't look like it's the closest, with Yamauchi-san's real family being at Polyphony:

"The most important people in my life and close work are of course employees Polyphony. We are like a family.

"On the other hand, some people at Sony helped me and help them grow professionally. And those people I work and my devotion I'm happy to help all I can,"...
