That didn't take long, shortly after we posted the news of AdrianC raising funds to buy a DECR-1000A machine to figure out the last of the PS3 Secrets, he was hit today with a "Cease and Desist" notice, and his PS3 blog was removed:

Shortly after the above tweet by AdrianC, his Twitter Account was also removed! -- Right away people jumped on it, it must be Sony the Evil Crab at work again, as RootedSystem was claiming so, and since alot of loyal Crunching members had donated to this research project of his, we decided to quickly dig into the truth...

Since the original release of the PS3MFW Builder Task by tical, 3 weeks ago in regard to bypassing the Cinavia protection found in all the later PS3 firmwares, there has been alot of renew interest in this bypass and how it works, even so that Dean has recently added the feature to overwrite flash files inside his multiMAN application, and he also raised the question "Why no one has released a PKG installer for this?"

So Codename: REBUG team has decided to jump in and do just that, since they were really the original origin of this Cinavia Bypass Fix as it has been a feature of all their REBUG custom firmware releases!

It has been a long while since we seen any PS3 Emulator News, but luckly for us Squarepusher2 is still busy in the background pushing updates to his GIT, and even more luckly for us PS3 owners that just want to download a PKG and play some retro games, torrenegra from Eloltrolado has taken all the recent GIT updates to Genesis Plus GX and assembled a PKG that is installable on both v3.41 and v3.55 CFW for us to enjoy in being retro gamers!

One of the things that have not been fully explored is the PS3 Reference Tool Kit, this device called the DECR-1000A has no Blu-Ray player, but it has many other features, like dual 400gb HDD's, dual HDMI outputs, VGA output, 4 LAN ports, 6 USB ports, override/debug switches, and prototype SYSCON.

This tool costs over $10,000 from Sony and only used by high-end Game Studios as it has features which are not allowed in normal DEBUG / TEST machines, like the ability to dump the actual Hypervisor and LV1 memory ranges, basically it is dream-house of low-level knowledge waiting for the right person to look into its core brains more deeply using today's PS3 knowledge that we now have, thanks in part to all the previously released tools!

Well I knew it would not be long before we started to see Round #2 of the "Clone Wars", just like we did a year ago when PS Jailbreak first hit the market, soon afterwards the various other chip makers jumped into the frying pan.

Now we been having all this ProgSkeet news, and great progress with people dumping NOR's, and Downgrading, and even Dual-Booting, by swaping HDD's and re-flashing.

Well entering the PS3 battle arena now is the good old Team E3DIY, they have produced good products before, like the E3 Reader which was many steps ahead of the no-name Clones, and bought to the table last many new features, even the first USB-Downgrader solution, during the early days of Factory/Service JIG information, which sadly shortly blocked with that famous v3.56 firmware release!

Here is the email that our friends over at PS3Hax got today from Team...

This is not actually news, but as most of you know, Anonymous plans to hack Facebook in November. I read an article here that states Germany has now banned the "Like" button. So Anonymous, can you give us a "Dislike" button? Pretty please? :D

This reminds me of the early days of the PS2 'Scene', where we open up our costly $600 PS2 Console, and removed the cover and installed switchs, and we were flipping between "original" disc and "backup" disc, hoping in the progress we didn't burn out the laser or motor!

Flash-forward 10 years later, and now we have a FAST-SWAP of HDD's, while at the same time flashing the NOR on your $300 PS3 Console, along with the help of the ProgSkeet device, once you have open up your PS3 and solder a ton of wires!

Well now, we bring you the low-down on how this Latest-Trick works, thanks to the hard-efforts of DiGiTaL AnGeL for writing up this tutorial, on how you can now enjoy both worlds of using your CFW v3.55 and still have your OFW v3.70 on all on the same PS3 Console!

We all know how wonderful the REBUG firmwares have been from the Codename: REBUG team, which allows PS3 Jailbreakable users to access some of the Debug features on their Retail PS3 Consoles!

But their current releases are not 100%, the CoreOS is still CEX, well here at PS3Crunch we have been in touch with the team recently, discussing what their future plans are, and today CyberSkunk send us a short video showing the next evolution in their custom firmware releases!

In this video you can see the PS3 first booting and then BEEPING.

* This is normal, if someone installs an full official DEBUG PUP via Service Mode on a Retail Console.

Next you see Cyber booting on his PS3 using a USB Jailbreak Dongle!

* This time the PS3 boots-up and is a fully 100% DEBUG firmware, no crashing or beeping, loads right into the XMB!

This is all possible by the Codename: REBUG team...

uf6667 has been busy again, and updated the flasher software interface for ProgSkeet, and it finally adds support for the SAMSUNG flash memory, so it now supports basically every model of PS3 out there!

It also adds ByteSwap and Differential flash these two options are useful for downgraders, as it removes the need of using an extra program to swap bytes, and when writing back the new file, it speeds up the progress as it only writes the flash sectors that have infact been changed!

The PS3 Cell Broadband Engine, is neat little machine, and one feature of it is that each of its CELL's has it own bit of memory, so tasks are grabbed from the outside memory and then stored it in one of its eight SPE units called Local Storage!

Now alot of neat things can be found, if you can peek into the Local Storage memory, for one some key stuff might be decrypted, worthwhile to see in its native running stage, so along comes AdrianC he is one of those quiet little developers that works away, very rarely poking his head out, but in this case he slam-dunks everyone and releases a "Proof-Of-Concept", that DUMPS THE SPE LOCAL STORE!
