Sony has blamed the PS3 for the limited amount of titles available on the PSP. Sony Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida claimed that Sony has put too much focus on PS3 titles which caused a slow down in PSP titles. However he commented that the problem has been sorted out.

<blockquote>
The PSP may finally be getting a good run of games with title like Beaterator, LittleBigPlanet and GTA Chinatown Wars but it wasn’t always the case. Now Sony’s bosses have revealed just why it’s handheld took so long to take off. Read on to find out why…

According to Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida say the Playstation 3 is to blame for the slow trickle of titles for the PSP.

Nintendo has confirmed that in the near future it will test out providing demos on the WiiWare service. The reason why demos will be provided on the network is because Nintendo want to try and lure in new shoppers to the service.

<blockquote>During the Q&A session at a recent earnings briefing, Iwata told investors that Nintendo would begin a test program for WiiWare demos some time this month. The test will cover just a few titles.

According to Iwata, Nintendo is undertaking this test to see if it can get more players shopping on the Wii Shopping Channel. He admitted that the market for WiiWare and DSi Ware is currently small, with the Wii Shopping Channel and DSi Shop browsed only by people who already know the game they want to get. </blockquote>

Microsoft's EMEA community manager has confirmed that a revised version of the Sky Player is set to hit the Xbox 360. Apparently the revised edition is set for a 'gradual' roll-out.

<blockquote>"As you may know, we have been experiencing some technical issues with the Sky Player on Xbox 360 since launch last Tuesday morning. It is important to both Sky and Xbox that we give customers as much information as possible about why the service is not working and when we expect this to be resolved.

As we said last week, some customers have been unable to experience full use of the service due to the initial demand for the service at launch, when so many people tried to access the service all at the same time.

Right now we are implementing a revised rollout which will see Sky Player become available to all Xbox 360 customers gradually. While unfortunately some customers do not have access to the service, tens of thousands more will be added each day, until the service is...

Sony has denoted that it is beating the Xbox 360 in terms of video on demand content as PSN now has 40 studio partners offering movies which makes the PS3 the biggest provider.

<blockquote>Sony has laid the VOD smackdown on Xbox 360 by announcing it now has 40 studio partners offering movies to its on-demand service – making it the biggest provider console-wise of downloadable content.

Although the service is yet to reach UK shores – it's expected sometime this month – the amount of content available in the US version of the service is a pretty good indication of what to expect.</blockquote>

A while ago we reported on a dog who accidentally purchased LIVE content while his owner was asleep. Well MS caught wind of this news and have refunded the owner of the dog but also provided the dog with an extra controller and a LIVE subscription.

<blockquote>"I saw you wrote a story on the guy whose dog bought Xbox LIVE points. People spend tens of billions of dollars on their pets every year, but it's pretty unusual for your pet to return the favor (except in love and tail wagging of course ). One lucky pet owner in Richmond, Virginia, though has a pet who really cares. Greg Strope's dog purchased 5,000 Xbox LIVE points while the guy slept. Luckily for Greg, Microsoft is refunding his LIVE points and providing extra for good measure. Plus he will get an extra controller and a LIVE subscription for his dog, Oscar. We also created a gamertag for Oscar so that he doesn't feel left out anymore!</blockquote>

Nintendo's Satoru Iwata has revealed that the PS3 and Wii are relatively 'neck and neck' in terms of sales in Japan. Iwata noted that the market share of the Wii and PS3 this year in Japan is about 42 percent to 40 percent.

<blockquote>Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, has explained that Wii and PS3 are 'neck and neck' in terms of sales in Japan. Mr Iwata also points out that, "However, the total unit sales of home console hardware were down last year and this year."

During his speech to investors, he also pointed out that, "A notable dip can be seen in sales of Wii this year; which is approximately half the size of last year. On the other hand, Sony's PS3 showed a good transition and they increased the unit sales by about 50%...

"Although we held more than a 60% hardware market share through last year - Wii has 42% and PS3 40% share thus far this year - so both machines are neck and neck in Japan."</blockquote>

19 is now your lucky number as Talismoon has produced a 19 blade PS3 fan instead of the regularly 15 blade PS3 fan. Apparently, the 19 blade fan was in the very early PS3's but Sony got rid of them. The new fan from Talismoon promises quieter and all round better cooling due to the increased blades.

<center><img src="http://www.maxconsole.net/content_img/taliss19.jpg"></center></a>

<strong>Product Description</strong>

The cooling power of the whisper fan is now available for the Playstation 3. Sony originally included 19 bladed fans in its original Japanese production, but when production started in China there was a switch to a 15 bladed fan of the same type. These fans had lower CFM (cubic feet per minute of air moved) and many people reported that they could make your Playstation run very hot and loud.

This fan is a direct replacement for 15 bladed fans. The fan is quieter by several decibels, runs slower (in RPM) creating less high pitched vibration noise....

A while ago, numerous websites picked up on a quote made by a Sony exec and re-formulated it to state that 'Home is not a priority'. But the actual comment was made in specific reference to making money from the service financially. But we're sure that part will come in the future too!

<blockquote>Last week it Edge reported Sony's Peter Edwards as stating that, "It’s not a priority right now but there is a business model there", with regards to PlayStation Home. We reported on the report.

Shortly after, a poster called B told our Forum: "I've seen many things misreported from the LGC panel talk, but I think this is going too far now. I was there, so I know exactly what the guy was saying.

"He was talking in regards to making money in Home. He said that making money is not their priority for Home, that they are making some - that there is a business model, but that's not what they're trying to do. They're trying to build a community."

New reports denote that Xbox 360 owners may find themselves being forced out of using the party chat option as MS is offering developers the ability to negate the private chat option of the Xbox 360.

<blockquote>Do you like to use the party chat option on your Xbox 360? Well, if you do, you may soon find yourself being forced out of using that option. Microsoft appears to be offering developers the option to negate the private chat option the Xbox 360 offers. Currently, players have the option of forming a private chat with players, but that will soon change.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will force players to decide whether or not they’ll play the game and join the game chat, or choose to stay in a private chat and not play in the multiplayer game. With titles like Gears of War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War, and many other online based multiplayer titles, the private chat feature became a way of telling other players of enemy locations after...

Following on from our leaked specs that indicated that the next Wii would be Blu-ray equipped, we have news that Nintendo has reportedly mentioned again that the next Wii will indeed support high definition.

<blockquote>
One of the recaps is from today's Nikkei Industrial Daily, which has an article about last week's Nintendo earnings report. During the briefing, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata apparently touched upon the specifications of Nintendo's next generation console, indicating that the console would likely make use of HD visuals.

Yes, I'm aware this is all extremely vague. What you're reading here is a summary of a summary of what was probably a vaguely written article in the first place. If I manage to get my hands on the paper, I'll post a more detailed summary. Alternatively, it's possible that the Nikkei article sourced the Q&A section of the briefing, which Nintendo will likely post in full to its official site some time this week.</blockquote>

Making-of DVD? Download code for an exclusive shield to block projectile vomit? No, no. 505 Games' upcoming Wii-exclusive Baby and Me takes the whole special edition thing to a whole new level - it comes with a creepy doll.

Better yet, you're supposed to strap your Wii Remote to it for a stunning display of just how far humanity has come. By rocking the disturbing creature in your arms, you'll also be rocking an on-screen baby in Baby and Me. That's intense. But just check out all the other features!</blockquote>

Ratchet and Clank developer has written a fairly lengthy report on the lack of value that 60fps support provides on the latest games. A deep report found that higher framerates do not increase the sales of the game, nor to they significantly affect the reviews.

<blockquote>However, during development, there are hard choices to be made between higher quality graphics and framerate. And we want to make the right choices that reflect our commitment to providing you with the best looking games out there. To that end, our community team did some research into the question of framerate. The results perhaps confirmed what I’ve known for a long time, but found it difficult to accept without evidence. They found that:

•A higher framerate does not significantly affect sales of a game.

•A higher framerate does not significantly affect the reviews of a game.</blockquote>
