Growing amounts of 360 owners are complaining that the new Halo 3: ODST is not working on their systems and the disc is essentially unreadable. It seems consoles of all years of manufacturing have suffered from the respective problem.

Bungie's latest game, Halo 3: ODST, is causing problems with Xbox 360 gamers.

The disc is unreadable on a whole host of consoles, either skipping or presenting "the disc is unreadable" on-screen. This is despite the disc being completely new and pristine on closer inspection.

Some users are finding solace in the ability to download the game to their hard drive, but this is not a universal solution.

Posters on the Bungie forums claim that the problem does not happen with other games, or at least the majority of games. It originally looked like only early Xbox 360's suffered from the problem, but later consoles from 2008 and 2009 have also been added into the mix.

It seems MS want Forza 3 to do so well that they have reported to trolling forums and bashing GT 5 wherever possible. A NeoGAF forum mod has traced back some very recent GT 5 bashing to that none other than a Microsoft employee who also plugged Forza at the same time.

Seriously I’m done waiting, how can they let someone make 3 games before releasing GT5.
360 it is, Forza it is, Bill Gates it is!

The mod responded with this:

Dude, if you're going to make posts like this - you shouldn't sign up for a GAF account with your Microsoft corporate email.
