Ahead of Apple

Recovered from the holiday seasons, Android takes the lead with almost a two-thirds of all smartphones sold in North America.

That's it, Android smartphones are now ahead by sales in the U.S. with and impressive 41% of the total, followed by Apple with a 29%.

The holiday's quarter was dominated by Apple (41%) thanks to the big demand of its new iPhone 4S but Android phones recovered the lost ground in this first quarter of 2012.

Taking over domains

Apple has filed a claim with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to gain control of the iPhone5.com domain

We don't know if Apple is doing this just for protecting its trademark or in advance to prepare a domain for the future iPhone that would finally get the "iPhone 5" name, or both.

The company filled a claim with the WIPO to being able to own the iPhone5.com domain. Currently and since 2012, the domain hosts a small forum about the "future" iPhone 5 and its features. Looking backwards in time, we found that Apple only gained control of iPhone4.com a year after the product was launched and iPhone4s.com also several weeks of its debut.

Now, it is the hand of the judge to decide who wins but we guess it will be Apple.

An impressive work

The set-up recognizes sand elevation and also introduces water flow physics to entertain and teach at the same time.

This is amazing project could give us endless fun when we were kids (and to be honest, now too).

Imagine a sandbox with a Kinect sensor scanning it permanently to measure sand "elevation" when we build mountains and valleys.

A projector "draws" the elevation lines like in a topographic map and with some clever physics calculations add water flowing where you want just by extending your hand.

The creators enplan it more technically:

The game that became Assassin's Creed

Ubisoft were developing Prince of Persia: Assassins when they noticed that it could be a GREAT and NEW franchise.

Audio designer Alain Lrose has released a video with some games he worked as audio lead and sound designer from 2002 to 2009. The video included some gameplay footage of Wrath Unleashed, Assassin's Creed (early pre-production), Marc Ecko's Getting up, Army Of Two and other internal projects that unfortunately never made it to completion.

The most interesting is that Assassin's Creed in early pre-production was called Prince of Persia: Assassins. That make us guess that Ubisoft was developing a new Prince of Persia game and they finally decided to release it as a new franchise. As you can see in the video, there are a lot of details of the Assassin's Creed games, so you know now that this Prince of...
