Hi folks,

Just posted my issue on the official bethsoft forums and it looks like I'm not the only person with this issue.
http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1047541

Just bought my copy of Fallout 3 GOTY Edition and it won't load any of my old Fallout 3 saves. Shouldn't be an issue due to the region, as I bought my Pre-ordered Fallout 3 and my Pre-ordered Fallout 3 GOTY Edition from the same Canadian EB Games store.

A new monster hunting game being billed as Sony's real challenger to the Nintendo Pokemon range is being backed by a huge marketing campaign by the Sony PSP team. Anyone looking forward to this particular title?

<blockquote>A monster-hunting game billed as Sony’s first challenger to Nintendo’s Pokemon range is being backed with a wide-ranging marketing campaign by the platform holder.

Invizimals will be released by SCEE next month, and, in a unique development, will utilise the official PSP Camera to show up ‘invisible’ creatures. The game was devised by Spanish studio Novarama.</blockquote>

David Cage has gone on record to rubbish news that Heavy Rain is only full of quick time events. He noted that the balance between such an occurrence and action is similar to Indigo Prophecy in the US.

<blockquote>David Cage has gone on record to rubbish claims by "gamers" that Heavy Rain is only full of quick time events. He mentions that the only people saying this are those that have never played the game, and that the balance of QTE versus action in the game is exactly like Farenheit (Indigo Prophecy in the US). He explains that the game only goes into QTE during a cutscene sequence, and allows you to control the character at all times throughout these unique experiences.

Cage also commented on Sony saying that "they really pay attention to the quality of the game. That's the only thing that matters to them, and to us too...I think we are in good shape, we made the game we wanted to make."</blockquote>

In a GTR video, rap star Lil Wayne implies that he has a modded Xbox and seems very proud of it. The rapper claims he has 'every game ever created' as well as 'every porno' as you'd expect.

<blockquote>Not only does rapper Lil' Wayne's Xbox have "every game ever created," but it also has "every porno," which makes it, as one off-screen commentator jokes, a real X Box. Ha. Yeah.

There you have it, piracy police. Gamertag Radio has it on camera. Hear his mumbly voice for yourselves. He even says that he has pong. He's deep into piracy to have that on the Xb</blockquote>

Upcoming PS3 exclusive Uncharted 2 reportedly features a 'next gen filter' in which users can purchase with in game money. The filter makes Uncharted 2 look on par with Gears of War and MGS 4 in terms of the color theme hence their apparent mockery of others.

<blockquote>Uncharted 2 features a ‘Next-Gen Filter’, which you can purchase with the in-game money. Unlike Drake's Fortune filter, this time around it's much more accurate and comical.

Much more defined this time around, Naughty Dog makes the next-gen filter make Uncharted 2 look like Gears of War or Metal Gear Solid 4 in color, which is pretty much one main color theme. The filter makes the game look brownish gold and takes away nearly all the color found in the game. When you turn the filter on, you are truly playing a “next-gen†title. You have to love the humor of Naughty Dog.</blockquote>

According to reports, leading online retailer Amazon will be offering 'tokens'that can be redeemed for real downloads on the PSN service.

<blockquote>In our increasingly connected world, there are more and more ways to buy entertainment content. Unfortunately for retailers, fewer of these methods involve going to an actual shop. With the advent of digital distribution systems like WiiWare, Xbox Live Arcade, Games on Demand, and the Playstation Network, gamers can now by digital copies of their favorite titles directly from console manufacturers. This cuts retailers out of the loop, and some are looking for creative ways to get back in again. Amazon is one such worried retailer, and it has recently announced a plan to meet Sony half way: The online shop will sell 'tokens' that can be redeemed for actual downloads on Sony's PSN service.</blockquote>

According to one report, the Xbox 360 version of NFS: Shift is actually attempting to try and access the Playstation Store. But unfortunately when this happens, it can also make things go pear-shaped and crash. Strange coding from EA on this one then.

<blockquote>When navigating menus today while connected to Xbox Live the game suddenly crashed again. When my rage had subsided and I got a better look at the screen, I was pretty shocked at what I saw. Was my Xbox 360 version of Need for Speed Shift really trying to access the Playstation Store? Microsoft are not going to be happy about this.</blockquote>

It looks as if a public billboard has spilled the beans and confirmed that a new version of Resistance 3 is in the works. Perhaps this was a deliberate tactic by Sony, but whatever the intent, it seems to confirm yet another sequel to this franchise.

<blockquote>Some interesting news to report now as a recent public billboard in Louisiana has potentially spilled the beans on an upcoming announcement for the next installment in the popular Resistance franchise.

As reported from Eurogamer, the letters used in the new logo appear to suggest that the new game will be set in New York, with a possible release coming sometime in February next year.
Why February you say? Well it’s worth mentioning that the billboard is located by a petrol station that is commonly used for film-sets. One of these upcoming films is called Battle: Los Angeles, which will be handled by none other than Sony Pictures</blockquote>

Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime has torn into the PSP Go, questioning what the point of the product is and what benefit does it provide to the potential consumer. Does he have a point?

<blockquote>The PSPgo has split opinion since its launch earlier this month. But Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Aime knows where he stands. Speaking with The Washington Post about the PSPgo, he said, “I have the utmost respect for all our competitors, but it’s interesting to try and answer the consumer question of ‘What’s in it for me?’ in that product.â€

Warming to his theme, Fils–Aime went on to say that the PSPgo had a, “fundamental concept problem in terms of ‘Who’s it for?’ and ‘What’s the benefit?’â€</blockquote>

It looks as if Sony's DRM techniques have hurt the free game scheme given to those European PSP go buyers. While Sony has scrapped the UMD exchange system, it is insistent that it will take care of its loyal customers.

<blockquote>Managing a download-only console may prove harder than Sony first imagined. If you are a European customer who purchased a PSP Go, you were given a voucher for your choice of three games. The problem is that many gamers use their PlayStation 3 to download PSP content, and Sony locked the downloads down to whatever system customers use to grab the content. That means that if you used your PlayStation 3 to download the games, you're out of luck. This isn't the only issue to hinder the PSP Go's momentum.</blockquote>

Microsoft's big upcoming racer Forza 3 has reportedly already been leaked online. The significance of this particular leak is that the street date for the title is about two weeks from now so it's not good news for this exclusive racer.

<blockquote>Set to release October 23, Forza Motorsport 3 has been leaked to various p2p websites. The download is said to contain the main game and another disc containing hundreds of cars and tracks totaling over 13gb. Forza 3 is an XBOX 360 exclusive Published by Microsoft Game Studios and is expected to sell well given the score of 93% for Forza 2 on Metacritic.com and the hype over the current version’s visuals and enhanced simulation driving that can also cater to the casual crowd by ramping down the difficulty level with optional aides. While this leak may not be a surprise, it is no wonder why game day available DLC, strategic pricing, and other gimmicks are becoming the norm.</blockquote>

According to reports Nintendo are encouraging folks to tip them off about shops who sell the R4 flash cart. Nintendo has reportedly offered an anonymous reporting service.

<blockquote>Nintendo are offering a service whereby anonymous shoppers can tip off the manufacturer about shops that are offering the legally-iffy R4 Revolution device. The cartridge allows for 'data' (read: homebrew and, mostly, illegal ROMs of games) to be loaded from a Micro SD card onto a Nintendo DS. Tokyo's Akihabara and Osaka's Den Den Town are rife with people selling the products even today, despite many companies (including Nintendo) cracking down on its distribution.</blockquote>

USAToday reports that there is a very high possibility that Project Natal will be very expensive upon its launch. This is due to comments made by MS who denoted that the technology will go through the usual 'price curve'.

<blockquote>Pricing for the motion control peripheral known as Project Natal will start at a high price, then experience a slow decrease, reports Variety's The Cut Scene blog.

Speaking at an Xbox 360 event in New York, Robbie Bach, the president of Microsoft's entertainment and devices division says consumers should "expect that it (Natal) will go through the usual price curve."

As for when Microsoft will switch away from the code name Natal, Bach says it will happen "when we tell you to call it something else."</blockquote>

It looks as if a more Playstation Home-esque experience will be coming to Xbox LIVE as new images reveal avatars playing classic arcade games in a virtual arcade environment.

<center><img src="http://www.maxconsole.net/content_img/playlike.jpg"></center></a>

<blockquote>Joystiq received some interesting info from a reader today. The source claimed to have taken part in a survey run by Microsoft which featured avatars playing classic arcade games in a virtual arcade setting. If that sounds familiar, you probably played PlayStation Home for 5 minutes (and then never again).

There's a distinct lack of information in the survey, though they did ask for suggestions on what to call the service. Joystiq prefers "Tower of ROM" but I'm partial to my write-in option: "Gamezilla: The Gameasaurus Rex Arcade And Funzone...Zone"</blockquote>

O'Connor from Bungie has revealed that the team has Halo plan that goes out at LEAST six years and ties Halo IP together across platforms such as comic books and the novels.

<blockquote>As for Master Chief, odds are he will be seen again. "I think that (his) fate, Cortana's fate and the identity of that giant, dark planet at the ending (on the game's hardest skill level) — that's a spoiler — are probably big mysteries that would be irritating if they were just cliffhangers," O'Connor says.

"We do have a plan that goes out at least six years," he says. "Eventually, it will become very apparent that there is a plan for the way the canon all ties together and the way the comic books and the novels all tie together."</blockquote>

Beyonce has revealed that she 'really loves' Wii Fit and is keen to get involved with video games. She noted that if she did do a game, it would incorporate dance and performance into it as well as fitness.

Last month the U.S. game division said that the new PS3 Slim has sold 1 million units in three weeks of availability.

To broaden the retail presence of the device, the company will try to present the multi-functional PS3 in several areas of a retail store.

Phil Spencer of MS has taken something of a subtle jab at the delayed release of Gran Turismo 5 by declaring that Forza 3 is the only racing sim shipping this generation.

<blockquote>Phil Spencer, corporate VP and head of Microsoft's worldwide studios, is apparently keen to take a jab at Sony and Polyphony Digital while promoting Turn 10's Forza Motorsport 3.

When responding to a question about developing and shipping high quality exclusive games in either their first or second party studios, Spencer responds to Gamsutra:

"Absolutely. And to ship them! That's an important part of our strategy. Look at Forza shipping next month: the definitive racing sim this generation. You could say it's the only racing sim that's shipping this generation."

Polyphony Digital's Kazunori Yamauchi recently commented that the pressure from Sony to release Gran Turismo 5 was difficult to bear. Gran Turismo 5 is now set for a March 2010 release in Japan. </blockquote>
