Battlefield 3 and Batman AA running on Vita? A few videos show it using a hacked version of firmware 3.55.

A few new YouTube videos have emerged, showing some PS3 titles running via Remote Play on the upcoming PlayStation VITA, such as Red Dead Redemption, Mortal Kombat, Battlefield 3 and Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Apparently, the PS3 firmware 4.0, *officially* supports Remote Play with VITA, but this one runs on a hacked v3.55, which recognizes the VITA as a 'mobile phone'.

That is just one question that 'Kotaku Japan' recently asked in an online poll from new PlayStation Vita owners

Kotaku Japan recently did an online poll and asked a bunch of questions from new PlayStation Vita owners after one month of Japanese sales, we got a picture of how it is overall working and being used

In Japan, the PS Vita has been well selling (if you can call it that) for a whole month now, but how is it working out for those new owners.

Well, 'Kotaku' decided to run a poll with a number of good questions to ask, and here is some of those answers:

"How many games did you purchased for your Vita?"

30% majority of owners purchased one or two games, but 15% grabbed 4 titles.

"Did they pick Retail versions or download packages?"...

The Vita version will have additional characters

I don't think anyone expected this. The Vita version of the game which will come out after the console version will have these characters featured in it.

You'd think the dynamic lineup of characters from both Street Fighter & Tekken series would be more than enough.

But Namco & Capcom will be introducing: Cole MacGrath from InFAMOUS, Toro & Koro from their Japanese games such as Weekly Toro Station, aswell as Pacman & Megaman from their respective titles named after them.

Why doesn't the console version have this? Is this a last minute idea thought up in response to the poor sales of Vita games?

Who knows. -- Hopefully we'll see something similar in Tekken X Street Fighter.

If you live in Korea and have an LG smartphone

Finally, the game jumps to the Android platform but exclusively to Korea's LG devices for now

Resident Evil 4 Mobile Edition is available since inmemorial times on the iOS and other platforms but it always has resisted the temptation to run on Android devices, until now.

It appears that the game is heading for Korea market and specifically to LG's LTE U+ segment with a price tag of Price tag is ₩5,000 (4.41$). So, the title will have the same time-exclusive treatment as other games from Capcom like Street Fighter IV HD, wich is LG's until May.

Well, this is not the best scenario for Androids out there but it is a start, isn't it?

They will be categorized as Playstation 2 classics

Both popular games could be downloaded directly to your PS3, PSP and probably Vita.

Sony wants you to play again and again those titles which were a "hit" sometime ago. The turn is now on Rockstar popular GTA franchise.

Particularly, Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto Vice City will be downloadable in the near future. Unfortunately, there is no word about San Andreas getting the same treatment.

What do you think? Playing the same games, generation after generation is getting boring, isn't it?

Uploaded.to blocks all US traffic and Filesonic shuts down file-sharing capabilities

Others big sites have also announced major changes to their TOS and PAYMENT systems

The takedown of MEGAUPLOAD has caused a tidal wave across the globe, as smaller sites run for cover, and start hiring lawyers bracing for the worse.

Filesonic.com idea to protect themselves is to no longer allow 'shared' access to files uploaded, for 'your eyes only' basically.

Uploaded.to idea is to geo-block all USA traffic, and possibly other countries that may help or act like the USA in their laws.

WHO'S NEXT ? -- Good question, but it looks like the other big file-sharing sites don't want to become the next 'Kim DotCom'.

AT&T has changed its 3G data plans for the PlayStation Vita

According to the now updated Vita AT&T listing for the 3G data plans, you will have a choice of $15 for 250MB plan and another for $30 that is now a 3GB plan

Previously, it was reported that AT&T was going to charge $25 per month for their 2GB plan, but now I guess they figured out it was not that good of a deal.

So AT&T have decided to add $5 more to the monthly charge to top tier plan and increase the allowed data limit from 2GB to 3GB for your PS Vita handheld.

PS Vita teardown reveals that its real value is less than $160

Intrigued by PS Vita "high-end" parts cost? Are you sure you want to know with how much of your cash is Sony filling their wallets with each unit sold?

Well, the final percentage is that the PS Vita real value is 50% of its retail price. Yeah, it hurts to know but this is only about 150-160$ for the parts it has.

A recent teardown of the machine, part by part give us the following price list:
  • Touchscreen: $50
  • Battery: $3.60
  • Cameras: $3.50
  • Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/GPS: $3.50
  • NAND chip: $6.00
  • SDRAM: $9.25
  • Processor: $16.00
  • BB+XCR: $16.25
  • Non-electronic components: $11.00
  • Other: $30.00
  • Supporting materials: $10.00
But hey, this is only the "hardware" part, engineering is not included ;).

New method could lead to endless battery by capturing energy from the sun and unused light, from the OLED displays! But, wait, seems this still needs time.

A researcher from the London Centre for Nanotechonolgy has managed to squeeze solar power cells into OLED displays.

This, of course, could lead to convert sun light into energy that can be used to recharge a device's central battery unit.

Sony appears to be expanding the selection of PlayStation Suite titles beyond PsOne classics

The ESRB rated Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Pinball Heroes (eight different tables including Uncharted), and Daxter - three PSP games – for PlayStation Certified Devices

The number of titles available for 'PlayStation Certified Devices' seems to be expanding as least from reports from the ESRB as they have recently rated a group of games including 'Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror', 'Daxter', 'Pinball Heroes' all of which were originally released on the PSP but are now being rated for 'PlayStation Certified Devices', so that means devices like the Sony Tablet S which already has been seen running a demo of 'Pinball Heroes'.

Hopefully, Sony will also allow owners of the 'Xperia Play' to enjoy some of these PSP ports, along with the new Xperia Arc.

A juicy rumor from SemiAccurate suggest it.

The source says that production for the initial batch of Xbox devkits has already started, with units' expected arrival by March at some studios.

This is just a rumor but with a strong base to support it.

It appears that Microsoft's succesor for the actual Xbox 360 devkit has already entered production stage and will be using some variant of the 28nm ATI Radeon HD7000 series chips in it. Even if production of devkits hardware has started, the release of the next xbox would be far away. Retail units for consumers are expected to be produced later this year for a 2013 release, so E3 2012 would be the selected fair for the console to be presented to the big public. ¡Fingers crossed!
