Sony's CFO has revealed that the tablet market is certainly something they would like to be active in, even if they are a bit behind the Apple iPad currently. So, watch this space.

<blockquote>Hot on the heels of last month's iPad announcement and this week's Google tablet buzz, Sony has hinted that they too may be entering the tablet computer arena. Speaking at a Tokyo news conference, Nobuyuki Oneda, Sony's chief financial officer, said the company is "very interested" in the tablet market, and that the company hopes to create a product in that space.

"Time-wise we are a little behind the iPad but it's a space we would like to be an active player in," said Oneda. </blockquote>

Bungie has posted up a note that they are saddened that MS is to cut online support for original Xbox titles. However, they also look back fondly on the good times that their titles have had and want everyone to have one good last game on April 14th.

<blockquote>
We're all saddened at the realization that an era is coming to an end but looking back, we're incredibly fortunate to have had such a great run and such strong support from our fans. Halo 2 has been at or near the top of the Xbox LIVE charts for original games since it launched over five years ago. We're extremely thankful to everyone who has played, enjoyed and supported Halo 2 over Xbox LIVE. We've had some great fun together, including far too many humpday losses to even recount.

That said, mark your calendars now - on April 14th let's all rally to go online for one last hoorah. One final farewell and one final opportunity for all of you to kick our asses at Halo 2. </blockquote>

BioWare has gone on record to explain their decision to cut down the sex scenes in Mass Effect 2. As part of their explanation, they questioned whether certain people are actually mature enough for sex scenes and noted it is entirely their own decision on what to include.

<blockquote>"People who claim to be old enough and mature enough to handle sex and nudity in a game seem to believe that any lack of sex and nudity in the game is a sign of self-censorship," said BioWare's Stanley Woo on the game's forums. "They generally don't believe that a game can be called 'mature' without explicit sex and/or nudity."

"Let me tell you, folks, that as a developer full of mature individuals, we are also free to not have explicit sex and/or nudity in our games, no matter what you, Fox News, the government, or Bunky the Wonder Clown has to say about it. We have never considered it a 'problem,' it is simply a choice we have made and we have every right to make that choice."</blockquote>...

So some of the first reviews of BioShock 2 are in. And they are looking pretty decent. IGN has scored the game as a 9.1/10 claiming that it's a familiar experience BUT its improved gameplay and storyline make it a better game.

<blockquote>It's going to be a familiar experience for anyone that played the original, but BioShock 2's improvements to gameplay and its more focused storyline make for a game that's more playable and easier to digest. Some of the sense of awe and mystery is lost in transition, but the strength of the setting and more interesting implementation of moral choice make for an experience that's more consistent and rewarding. Anyone looking for a first-person shooter that offers more than flat, stereotypical characters and copy-and-paste supersoldier plots, one that attempts to establish a sense of right and wrong and loops you into the decision making process, and one that's set in one of the most vividly realized settings around should pick up BioShock 2....

The co-founder of GameKult has taken a trip down memory lane and reveals how Sony have been conducting 'shady' PR for some time. Apparently, they do CUT ads and blacklist journalists if they do not praise a game as they want. Moreover, they also reportedly threatened to SUE the website for reviewing a game on import game back in the PS2 days.

The full statement is up at <A href="http://www.gamekult.com/communaute/forum/voirmessage.html?foid=16505198" target="_blank">GK</a> and was declared in order to show Sony has a history of acting shady as most recently evidenced by the treatment over Heavy Rain.

Sony has revealed that the best is yet to come from the PS3 and that the best of it will only be shown in years from now. They hope that in the future, the PS3 will be pushed to the max like the PS2 was with God of War II.

<blockquote>Sony believes that the best is yet to come from PS3 - and that it will only really 'push the boundaries' of what is possible from the machine in years to come.

The format holder has repeatedly said it has a ten-year plan mapped out for the platform.

SCE Worldwide Studios Europe VP Michael Denny said today that he believes PS3's hardware will eventually be pushed by a game in the same way that God Of War II pushed PS2 to the max.

"It is our challenge to continue to improve our games by pushing the boundaries of what is possible," he told MCV Magazine.</blockquote>

According to Square Enix employee Yuuki Akama's LinkedIn profile, Final Fantasy XIV is in development for Xbox 360 on top of its already confirmed PC and PlayStation 3 iterations.

Though not an official announcement by any means, this information is hardly surprising considering Square Enix's comments on the title at last year's E3, hinting that the game could indeed show up on any console.

Since Square Enix and probably Microsoft would rather you hear about this apparently big news from them officially, the LinkedIn profile has been hastily removed, so we'll go ahead and label this one with a trusty RUMOR tag.

Just try to act surprised when someone makes a big deal out of the official reveal.

Final Fantasy XIV has been announced for release sometime this year for PC and PlayStation 3.
