Retro Is Cool
Let the Games Begin
Got this email in today in our MaxConsole HQ news desk, and it announces when AtariBox will start taking pre-orders for their console.
Some decades ago, gaming was not what we experience today. It has undergone serious but positive changes.
Back in 1979 when it was all about the 8-bit nostalgia, people used to enjoy different products from the video games that came to be in 1983. For example, much has changed with respect to all sort of games be it video games or online casino games. Every aspect of gaming is now changed. Let’s discuss further.
So far Technical Journey of Online Games
Veteran players have seen the transformation of the game industry way back from the classic releases like Pong, the 8-bit games and then to the virtual reality games that we have today. The advancement of the games is made possible by the advancement in technology, and more so computer technology that has improved in its processing power, storage capacity, memory and portability too. Looking forward to...
Cluster has released a NES/SNES/N64/SMD/DualShock gamepad to NES Mini, SNES Mini or Wii remote adapter.
The design is based around an ATMEGA16A microcontroller with 16MHz crystal oscillator (also supporting ATMEGA8A @ 8MHz without N64 support). The project is still in Beta phase and packs an impressive set of features. You can play NES mini, SNES mini and Wii virtual console games using original NES/SNES/N64/SMD/DualShock gamepad. You can also connect Wiimote to PC via bluetooth and use original NES/SNES/N64/SMD/DualShock controllers with emulators.

After launching the SNES Classic in Europe and North America in September, Nintendo has already sold over two million of the bite-sized retro consoles.
Forgot the 2010's, we are flashing back in time to the '90s, that is the in thing these days, with SNES Classic outselling even PS4
Take a step back in time to the 1980's....1987 to be exact and revisit 3 of the classic horror/adventure thriller games of the neon age!
Online Auction Ready Artifact-Kit!
The follow-up companion piece to the previous hot-selling 'E.T. The Excavating-Terrestrial' figures, and it really makes for great gaming history discussion piece for when your gaming buddies come over for some retro gaming experience and beer and pizza and relive the days when we play crappy games together on sofa in the rec room basement on a 14" CRT TV and think it was the bomb of super-cool.
The SNES Classic went up, and hackers got to work
Earlier this week, we reported on the fact that the Star Fox 2 from SNES Mini Dumped and we even shared it the file with the world, but now bootleggers have decided to cash in with the 'dumped' rom file and are flashing it to cartridges complete with a nice label.
There’s also a full-sized version in the works!
First there was the Atari Flashback and Sega Flashback consoles from ATGames, but it was not until Nintendo set the Mini Craze on fire with their NES Classic Edition, and now today they are busy selling-out the latest SNES Mini, and as such Retro Games has decided its time to cash in on this craze of Retro Mini's, and have announced coming in 2018 will be half-sized Mini C64 with 64 pre-installed games on it.
Our money is on the ghosts!
We have reported before on MaxConsole, on how 'Casinos' are losing out to the new generation, and have been looking at ways to bring in new whales to grab their money, and one of the new ways is to bring back the Retro '80s Arcade gaming experience, but to change it up a bit to allow people to win back some money instead of just sucking away their quarters for some entertainment, and first up to plate to help Casinos bring in new fresh gaming blood, is Bandi Namco with their classic Pac-Man game changed up a bit.
Dude was able to dump the Star Fox 2 ROM onto a cart with a Super FX2 chip and apparently it works
Nintendo's latest hottest retro gaming toy for this holiday season is launching tomorrow, but alot of retail big box stores broke the street date earlier for the Nintendo SNES Classic Mini Edition, as such hackers right away got to work in ripping it apart, first they found out that it was 100% the same motherboard as the last year NES Classic Mini Edition, as such it was very easy to use existing tools like 'hakchi2' to dump the NAND contents, and of course find that previously unreleased SNES game called 'Star Fox 2' to see if it was possible to run on SNES Emulators and of course a real SNES hardware console, and it seems that is it totally possible to do so!
Mini System Comes with 21 Super NES Games and is Available Tomorrow
Until now, you’ve just been playing with power. But starting tomorrow, you’ll be playing with SUPER power. That’s because the retro-tastic Super Nintendo Entertainment System™: Super NES Classic Edition system is hitting stores at a suggested retail price of $79.99.
SNES Classic Mini Comes Out Tomorrow, But It Seems It Will Be HACKABLE Very Easy Like The NES Classic Mini
SNES Classic Mini is selling out like hot-cakes, and some stores have already 'broken street date', which means we have teardowns and already hackers have taken a look at the 'NAND Dumps' and looking to see how easy the previous NES Classic Mini 'hakchi2' will work!
Atlus: "it isn’t the emulator itself we object to, it is the use of Persona 5... that we took issue with".
We have reported on the amazing progress of the RPCS3 Emulator before on MaxConsole, but sadly the development team posting videos of their PS3 Emulator playing 'Persona 5' has opened up a can of worms, with Altus USA taking the DMCA Takedown legal route to stop them promoting the fact their emulator can play their game, because one reason it is not perfect and still has 'framedrops' and other issues, making the experience worse than on actual PlayStation 3 hardware, but this is not the first time an emulator has come under fire, the most famous case was Sony vs. Bleem, when they developed an emulator to play PS1 games perfectly on the Dreamcast.
Atari says the crowdfunding campaign launches on Indiegogo this fall.
Mainstream news sites have been reporting on what the AtariBox will be like, with its crowdfunding starting this Fall, and it launching next Spring 2018 at the same cost of a normal PS4 or XB1, but it will have nice wood-grain, play Classic Atari games, run Linux on an AMD chip.
Hey, Dad... - The Touch is Broken on your Game Boy... - It does not work any more!
We all have seen the videos of '90s tech meeting up with 2010's kids of today, and here is yet another one, how can you use an handheld gaming device without 'touch', young kids today have no idea what 'buttons' are there for on devices like Nintendo Game Boy Color.
Play classic CD games and more on your modern TV
Yet another Retro Gaming System has appeared on IndieGoGo, but this one is bit different in that it contains an CD/DVD Player to allow you to play your original Classic gaming discs, and also has optional adapter for 'original cartridges', instead of other Retro systems that purely just run emulators with SD Cards, this one contains extra hardware to allow 'original discs & cartridges' to play directly, and so far at press time they have raised 26% of their $50,000 goal and published an impressive list of features and specs. as listed below:
What 12-year-old, with $1 million, doesn't demand video games be integrated into their epic treehouse?
So your only 12 years old, and you have million bucks to spend on building an Epic Treehouse, but for some reason you don't integrate any video games into it, seems like a total waste of your million bucks if you only 12 years old and getting yourself an Epic Treehouse.
