A 16 year old boy has become the youngest ever SOLO pilot in the UK and it's all down to the Xbox he says. Apparently, the Xbox generation as it be known has great hand-eye co-ordination due to playing video games and this skill comes in very handy when learning to fly!

Simon said: ‘I was worried about the weather yesterday but today it’s been perfect because there’s nil wind and good visibility.

‘I’ve trained about five schoolboys before. They tend to pick it up more quickly than adults.

‘But that’s the Xbox generation - their hand-eye coordination is better.

‘James is very professional and very cautious which is what you’re looking for.’ James said: ‘I do love to play computer games and always go on the Xbox when I’m round friend’s houses.

‘I do think it’s helped me with my hand-eye coordination - our generation is very lucky in that way.’ His mum Bridgette, 52, said: ‘We’re very proud of him indeed, it’s a brilliant achievement.

Only thing needed is a map to wherever he's going, not just in front of telly.

Ah yes what was I thinking... quality news right there. I can so see how such a grand event would push the human species towards the next evolutionary jump.

The scary part... I can actually see this happening. In fact, I'm already expecting it by tonight's news.
