no i thought i could just split the large file and mM did the rest.
People say that mMan cache doesn't work, so you'll either need to FTP/split and rejoin with mMan the whole game to internal or split the PARSC file for external running.
I'm going to try this below when at home, credits to andouk
Just download aldostools and open PS3PSARC GUI
When it opens click the icon with the dots and locate the pak23.psarc file should be in
and open it then it should show a list of the files, you then want to click extract all and extract them to a pak23 folder, you have to create this yourself then you can delete the pak23.psarc the pak23 folder should be placed here \PS3_GAME\USRDIR\build\main
Last of Us should work just like the Uncharted series. Made by naughty dog and same type of file/folder/directory setup. I'll test it later today when I get it.
thank you peppsi will give it a go now.
nob on to you sir
I can confirm from 3 testers that I trust (on Rogero cfw 4.30, 4.40 and 4.41) that the game works fine on both INT and EXT. Just let mM cache the bigfile to the INT when playing from EXT and it will play fine.
Copied the game to INT ,then told mM to copy it to EXT ,then told mM to play it from EXT (mM cached the bigfile).
[The Last of Us][INT/EXT][BCES01584 EUR][CECHK02/RGO441/multiMAN][Works fine][Split_Game][Disc-less]
Last of Us, The
Requires 4.41, 10GB psarc file.
LAST OF US External:
Extract 10GB pak23 psarc file in USRDIR/build/main. Put all extracted 2,653 files into pak23 folder (make this folder if need be) and put it where pak23.psarc was (USRDIR/build/main). Extracted size 15.9 GB. Did this myself and works. (if you did this before with Uncharted 2 or 3 is the same thing) -Patbat
I will prolly test the multiMAN split methods as well.
does work from external once the pak23 has been extracted, but splitting the file and letting mM join them does NOT work, that was the first thing i tried.
Thanks for this method.
I have downloaded psarc extracter (psarc.zip 26kb) and extracted it, copied the pak23.psarc file to that folder.
but when i drag and drop the .psarc file to psarc.exe it always crashes.
is there something im doing wrong?
i am using win7 64bit
Think its to do with runtime on Win 7, or try the X64 GUI
[SIZE=-1]Important Note: Windows Unicode should be using English locale and VB5 Runtime must be installed.[/SIZE]
Wow this works! Thanks peppsi
and PatrickBatman your method is also working for me using external hdd. Thanks
Added Deadpool (duplex) BLUS31146
(PS check my normal upload hangout)
Dragon's Crown works from internal hdd discless
however it did not work with MM 4.20 it gave an error message
but i updated to the newest MM and the game works fine now
Added Splinter Cell Blacklist (BLUS31025)
Bureau: X-COM Declassified, The
Saint's Row IV
Needs BD-Mirror to Install only. After 4197 MB install BD-Mirror can be disabled. Some 3rd Party controllers won't work correctly.
Splinter Cell Blacklist
Will get "LocID_CONF_Disc_Read_Error" unless BD-MIRROR & PS3 disc is in drive.
PS Splinter Cell & Saint's Row game ID's are not the same, look closely
Patrick, I want ask about your application manager, using iris ? ps3ita ? or MM ? version ?
I can not get it work, using MM 4.46.01, Rogero 4.46 v1, Splinter Cell BlackList.
already try your method ....
I hear, some ppl using ps3ita dan iris 2.35, it was working.... with rebug 4.46 Lite ??
I can confirm SC Blacklist (Duplex) works with Rogero+MM 4.46.
What i did:
1. extracted to my old 32gb fat32 usb2 stick into X:GAMES\GAMEFOLDER
2. renamed the 2 folders inside GAMEFOLDER from GAME to PS3_GAME .. and UPDATE to PS3_UPDATE
3. launched MM and made sure to check that MM settings/BD-rom emulator = Enable (last option in the MM settings list).
4. refeshed the MM game list with "Refresh" (if the game hasnt show automaticly).
5. scrool down to the SC Blacklist and press SQUARE to get the game's option screen.
6. scrool into the button list on the left and make sure to tick "External" and "BD Mirror".
7. scrool to the right and choose "Permissions" (this took a good 15-20 mins).
8. exit out and choose the game (MM exits to normal ps3 menu).
9. insert a real ps3 disc and play the game.
I use Multiman 4.46.01, game is on external with disc in and BD-Mirror selected, I'm on Rebug Rex 4.46 (not lite) That's it, I didn't have to do anything else (meaning all that stuff previous poster mentioned in post before this one).
And what do you mean you cant get it to work, what happens exactly? Do you get that disc read error, black screen etc?
I got loc_conf_read_disc_error using rogero 4.46.v1 and MM 4.46.01 with bd mirror and external, selected.
some ppl was using Rogero 4.46.v1 too also got an error disc ....
Saint's Row IV works from internal hdd
funny thing is i could install it without having bd mirror on
