Even if it is way more powerful we all know what happened last time around. Powerful system != Mega sales.

Well if the price is not high(as was the PS3 in the beginning), I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be awesome.

The rumour sounds more like a gamer's wet dream than like a realistic Sony prediction. We all know that Sony never gives gamers (at least portable gamers) what they really want and what they're asking for.

I'd better be dirt cheap too, otherwise it will be flushed away by the Nintendo 3DS, whatever specs it might have in reality.

That's kind of a silly statement considering that you don't know the price and the lack of physical media means that it'll be VERY high. Think about it. The PSP was subsidized when it launched for $250 and the PSP Go is back up to $250 6 years later due retailers being unable to offset the unit's price with software sales.

Most likely true. Copy all features of DSi and just update the graphics seems exactly what Sony would do. And I don't mean this in a bad way, it's only logical to copy what is good and put your own twist to it. The timing seems perfect too. 3DS is about to be released and PSP1 isn't making enough money.

It also looks like they might postpone the release to 2011 because they also want a 3D screen so they wouldn't seem out of date compared to 3DS. Again, it's only logical.

I just wish it will have a digital TV out for those of us who hate portables but like the exclusives.

These predictions are not to scale.

4 Core Cell CPU + Two touch screens + Room for buttons + Probably a huge motherboard to power the whole thing with enough ram + graphics chip/card = one realy really really big PSP?

I was expecting something.....slim. Not a damn Sega Gamegear.

Cell in a handheld would be 2 core, not 4 core.

If it has two analog sticks and a launch of great games, then I'm sold!

Who needs a camera or even 2 on a portable console!?

If I made the PSP2 it would be

    * Digital only, 64 or 128 GB internal flash + SD card slot (ok it's sony so mem stick) to be upgradable. PSP Go is a failure but that's because most games are out on UMD already. Day 1 availability for big titles and this is a certain success in 2010/2011.

    * No friggin camera, it's just gay.

    * Touch screen, and I'm talking about iPhone quality touchscreen at least.

    * Accelerometer! Why is this not mentioned anywhere? Any racing game is so much butter with accelerometer than with a D-PAD or analog stick. Pair that with a few traditional buttons for accel/brake, good gfx horsepower and you got the perfect GT5 on PSP2. The current PSP analog "stick" just sux (but ok, for the shooter fans u should put 2 of those on there, also better shoulder buttons than on the PSP).

    * ONE screen, but as huge and good quality as possible, I'd say go for full 720p 1280x720 pixels screen.

That's when I would consider buying this.

good points, its a dsi with better graphics. possibly 2x analog sticks

bad points, online only (with no guarantee that what you buy is what you'' still own in a few years), another device needing a 3g contract, who pays for that, us or sony and if sony, for how long?, with a 4 core cell and 2 screens and 3g its going to eat the non removable battery in no time, so its going to be big, get pretty hot in use (cant really run fans in a handheld), have a short battery life and no doubt it'll use another new version of memory stick, oh and the price, if the go was £250 i'd think this would be close to ps3 launch price (if it comes with a kindle like 3g connection).

Yup, they'd be dumb as heck if they didn't; however, if I were them I'd really re-consider the ultra high specs (assuming the info is accurate) people didn't pay $250 for a Go, and I doubt they'll pay $500 for a psp2. I think they need to keep it in the $250 range.

    Hmmm, let's take the ps3's example.. 4 core cpu = 2... maybe 1, 2 screens = 1... battery life 4 secs with wifi/bt off, 2 with them on LOL!

if it's around 250, 2 analogs, an can emulate ps2 games then wow should be nice.

can't wait to see it if all of this "being shown at e3" is true.
