Demand? Wouldn't this infringe on the user's ToS? (or any type of Terms of Service where you agree with Youtube over the rights of your videos).

Sony would be stepping on toes, wouldn't they?

well if Youtube decide to be a bunch of cowards and submit to Sony's demands (This would probably piss off alot of people in the process) I'm pretty sure alot of Providers would flip Sony off not giving out personal information of their clients.

it would make news everywhere that youtube is not a safe site to go on basically. googles stocks would probably drop dramatically.

Since Youtube = Google, I don't see them handing over information without a warrant anytime soon. I hope they respond back with a simple "No." That would make my week to see them respond to like a 10 page document asking for the ip's with a single word.

IIRC not even viacom got away with the IP address/usernames over watching "illiegal video".

Assuming Google have the balls to not submit easily, I dont think Sony will get away with it.

    Seriously, what's next?

This is beyond stupidity. Sony should realize they've already lost the piracy battle...

Considering the link was posted everywhere, on such places as even Kotaku, I don't even see what they are after with trying to identify people who viewed (or even commented) a video.

In Soviet Russia, IP tracks Sony.

    It had to be said.

Is it possible for me to get all the IP addresses of the people who Google my name too? No? Okay, so Sony should go hide under a rock now before they really embarrass themselves.

no, you couldnt, but once you've made billions and bought and paid for the justice system then i'm pretty sure you's get pretty much whatever you wanted. and if by some fluke you got an untainted judge you could always just sue the crap out of google then offer to buy it.
