You can just use Rebug Toolbox on 3.55 DEX peek & poke and dump eid_root_key from KMEAW lv2 kernel with flatzrootkeydumper, QA flag in toolbox then dump flash and convert to CEX with c2d.exe

Hi I'm on step 5 and when I do the c2d command, it says "EID Key: 48 bytes (eid0) Wrong format of EID key file: 16777216 bytes (16MB) expected, but 251396096 found!".

Any idea what I did wrong with the EID dump or what I can do differently?

BTW, I'm on CECHB01. Thanks in advance!

Hey thanks for the quick response, now I'm getting this message
    "EID key: 48 bytes (eid0)
Flash size: 240 MB NAND (flashdex.bin)
ERROR: Input Flash file is not valid!"

Is it possible for me to use Rebug Toolkit for a dump now that I'm on Rogero, or would I have to go back to DEX?? Or what do you recommend?

You're prolly naming the flash(s) wrong, in c2d you cant name them .NANDBIN or .NORBIN as extension, just name them like CEX-FLASH.bin, DEX-FLASH.bin

(Also i assume you're using NAND by your last error make sure you're using the 239 MB dump not 256 MB)

I finally un-bricked my PS3, which was bricked during dex to cex conversion.
The mistake which i done is forgot to activate FSM mode from xmb before rebooting.(after flashing my NOR cex from mMos)

Tried ps3jig (PSP) but sadly it doesn't work.
It worked with only Jig USB.

A ps3news.com member Brenza has posted a manual DEXtoCEX without bick risk and without formatting HDD. Please guys with Flasher and smart ones have a look at the instruction and tell me if its OK. Thanks
PS3 DEX 2 CEX: The Easy Way Without Bricking Guide

Hi, i'm glad to introduce myself to the PS3 scene with this little tutorial! This works for everybody, even for those who didn't set QA Flag before converting to DEX and does not require Factory Service Mode Downgrade so the hdd will not be formatted!!

DOWNLOAD: MirrorCreator: d2c_for_n00bs.rar (includes all the stuff needed except MultiMAN)
    Password: Powered by Brenza

    Notes:
I built a 3.55 DEX CFW with Retail CoreOS this allow you to easily dump the per_console_key_1 (aka eEID Rootkey) by using the flatz's eEID Root Key Dumper.pkg for 3.55 CEX. The CFW also has SS Patches to let you set the Glevand's qa_extra.pkg from DEX

How to create a valid CEX dump (optional, if needed)

If you lost your original CEX dump you can create a new one:

    1) Install the "CFW 3.55 DEX With Retail Patched CoreOS" inside the archive
    2) Install and run the homebrew eEID Root Key Dumper.pkg
    3) Copy your key from /dev_hdd0/tmp/eid_root_key to c2d_WithNandSupport folder in the archive
    4) Create a dump of your DEX flash (use MultiMAN, memdump, preloader.. etc)
    5) Copy the dump to c2d_WithNandSupport folder in the archive
    6) Use c2d to create your CEX dump (see c2d readme for help)

How to Convert from DEX to CEX

    1) Install the "CFW 3.55 DEX With Retail Patched CoreOS" inside the archive
    2) Install the last version of Deank's MultiMAN for CEX (min ver 4.10.00) <--- DEX version won't work
    3) Run MultiMAN and open the filemanager (SELECT+START)
    4) Rename your FLASH-CEX dump properly (if you don't have one read below how to create one)
    • If 16 MB dumo rename it in FLASH-CEX.EID0.NORBIN
    • If 239/256 MB dump rename it in FLASH-CEX.EID0.NANDBIN
    5) "Open" the dump pressing "X" twice and say "yes" to all questions
    6) Close MultiMAN by pressing PS, do NOT power off the PS3 until i say it.
    7) Install and run the homebrew reboot.pkg
    8) Install and run the homebrew qa_flag_extra.pkg <--- If you don't hear 3 beeps try again or you'll brick
    9) Power off the PS3
    10) Enter in the Recovery Menu and install the original 3.55 CEX <--- Don't install it from XBM or you'll brick!

Successfully tested on my Slim without qa-flag

    mutliman do not flash

Hi all! I'm on the last step of the guide of the first post. but when it say:
"open multiman > mmOS then double click 3my.CEX.EID0.NORBIN in USB Device and Choose yes>yes>yes"
and I double click my converted cex flash it simply open the file in multiman's hex editor and do not ask for anything. what can I do?
my file is named "myCEX.EID0.NORBIN" without any other extension.

    many thanks!

Been trying this for months thinking there HAS to be something i'm doing wrong but to no avail, i always get stuck at the eEID_RKDumper no matter what tutorial i am using, the screen instantly goes black and the console restarts after a few seconds, no matter how many times i try this tutorial i get no dump at all, i did do a proper dump and qa flag before switching to DEX but have since lost the files, coffee and USB sticks doesn't mix very well.

I'm hoping there's something obvious i am missing that someone who knows more than the bare basics would be able to point out.
