    download eEID_RKdumper.rar
extract the contents (should be something like eEID_RKdumper.pkg)
put that pkg file on a usb device
insert the usb device in your ps3
install the package to your ps3
it should show up on the menu
    start it
I guess it creates a file in dev_hdd0/temp
You need to use the file manager in multiMan to copy the file from that directory to your usb
so you can transfer it to your pc to use with the tool in the next step

Stuck bad on step 4. When pasting c2d.exe eid0 flashdex.bin flashcex.bin 84 I get " ERROR: Cannot decrypt EID0 SECTION! " . My Google Fu turns up nothing helpful. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

So i have been waiting 4 months for someone to reply to this, is there really no one that knows anything about this? Is my PS3 really stuck in DEX forever due to this? And no, i don't have anything plugged in when running it, i know that can be an issue.

yea, sorry, that's was a typo; it should say dev_hdd0/tmp. Did you find your eid0 in the tmp folder? Also, apparently the usb stick should be pulled out before running the root key dumper. I never actually used that to get the key, but some of the guys sounded desperate and apparently no one is interested in using the other method (otheros).
