Im getting 57kbs from xusenet but I dont mind. I needed to download X-Men Destiny, and nzb was the only answer.

    thanks pete

Also, if anyone in the uk is using Virgin Media as their ISP, you get free usenet access. Just enter news.virginmedia.com as your news server and your good to go. You only get 3/4 day retention, but I get 1.2 Mbps from my 10meg connection :)

    This is new to me.
What is a good Usenet client to use that I can just search for what I want in it and download it?

Also, does anyone know of any free NZB newsgroups that are currently around? I don't usually ask, but seeing as I'm officially a NZB N008 and I don't know what the heck is going on, I'm sadly stuck on this issue! :/

I use NewsLeecher as my usenet client. It has got a Super Search function, so you don't need to look for NZBs.

there is a nice thread over at Boerse.bz with always new free usenet accounts it is in german but easy to understand by using a translator.

as newsreader there is also a nice multilanguage shareware newsreader called alt.binz at it is download AltBinz.net

I'm on virgin media too,I found using a NZB that was older,I could pass the retention on their server but maybe recently it's changed, also no SSL,use too use Giganews, but too expensive I now use a block account from blocknews as the highwind's provider's get a lot of DMCA takedown's.
Also I use the freeware Alt.Binz,I find it does everything I need.

NZB's,try Merlinsportal or NZBmatrix, think both can be used for free but limited.

I hadn't heard of Blocknews before, they seem quite reasonable. I use Astraweb for my paid access.

yes Binsearch.info or NZBindex.nl are one of (if not) the best places for nzb´s because they are free & you have not registrate.

i´ve never use something else to search.
