    5GB of free cloud storage

Google has finally launched its response to Dropbox and Microsoft's SkyDrive

It finally happened! After several rumors and speculations Google releases its Google Drive service to all users out there who want to storage things on the cloud. With the initial (and free) quota of 5GB, the Google Drive positions itself between the 2GB of Dropbox (Upgradeable to more than 20GB performing certain taks) and the 25GB (For old users. 7GB for new ones) of SkyDrive. Furthermore, there are paid upgrades available for all of those who need more storage. Like both competitors, Google Drive offers a desktop client for syncing on a variety of devices and even Android and iOS Apps to do that.

If you are interested, you can activate your Google Drive account in the link below.

Forgot about box.com did we? Anyways, I'm surprised it's so little; I figured they would have gone for 20+ GB at least. Then again, all of googles online services offer storage, you've got gmail with it's 10GB, google music with I think 20,000 songs, google docs which I'm not sure what's the storage specs are. Maybe they should just join all accounts across the board if people want to.

That said, google is so intrusive these days (more so than before)... that kinda sucks.

Yeah, I now have 25 GB on Skydrive from MS. It is now my prefered Cloud storage service. This is a comparison between the 'most important':

Adding the fact that the Skydrive web interface its pretty nice... IMO, MS is the winner this time hah

Yeah I signed up for skydrive too, but since there wasn't an app to access stuff from my mobile didn't use it much. Now that I have 50GB with box.com though, not really interested in skydrive.

Though maybe once I get over my google paranoia (listen's to "Somebody's watchine me" in the background) I will take advantage of google drive.

*edit* I just noticed something, google docs storage was merged with google drive *edit*

Google limited the free side, to suck in a bunch of paying business clients first, then they will increase the free side up after a few months of Google suckers.
