    Hi,

I managed to get a valid dump from my bricked ps3 ( it's not actually bricked it works fine when the ps3 is disassembled, but if I put it back together it shows no video but light green) *Weird*

anyhow, I want to extract the ID, any good tut?

There's lots of tools that can check for console IDs from flash dumps, ranging from Aldo's Console ID checker to BwE's NOR/NAND Dump Information application which is far easier than actually hex-finding the IDPS (Console ID).

How did your system go tits up? Have you tried reflowing/reballing your system before? If your system is dead, then you can't do a flash dump on your dead PS3 if I recall correctly.

    TL;DR: You're SOL. :(

Now to swap it with my banned one :D

You could try IDPS Changer 1.3 at http://www.ps3hax.net/2013/04/released-idps-changer-v1-1-by-jorisd33/ (POST #44) if you want to change it permanently, or you can just use PSIDPatch for a temporary patch-over job! :)

You can still get your Console ID from your ylod console if you can power your nands using an external power source. If you have a nor console, just power the nor and get the dump from there. Then in your dump, get your ID.

Thanks I will try to reflow it if i can get a hold of a heat gun. I think that was the issue as the fan was going crazy before it crapped out.

To dump the flash, you don't need the PS3 to boot. In the old days, we would use the PS3 to power the nands while we dump. Now we recommend using external power, like an ATX PSU to power the nands. No need for the PS3 to even turn on. Plus, it's more reliable.

Edit: Since the nands are powered by 3.3v, you can use a 3.3v connector on the PSU. The 4-pin connectors have 2xGNDs, 1x12v and 1x3.3v.
