The links between online casinos and video games are something that has gone under the radar for so long, but they are becoming more evident. After all, the two sectors go hand-in-hand. The popularity of gaming online on computer games has increased at around the same time as online casinos; with the most popular way to do so through smartphones.

Even technology that is being used in console gaming such as virtual reality is being tested as a possible route for the gambling industry. Most people that have an avid interest in console gaming have joined an online casino, either through guidance from a friend or with help from companies such as Roulettepro.com. But, which video games and characters have made the connection work effortlessly?

    Grand Theft Auto

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is part of one of the biggest selling game franchises of all time has seen the inclusion of casinos during the 2003 release on PlayStation 2 and the Xbox before being remastered for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2015. The first-person shooter-adventure game remains one of the highest selling games to be released on the platform, and players can wander into the casino to place bets. There was an idea that was pitched that saw this being included online, but that theory was soon scrapped.

The use of casino in this game was fitting for the adult audience that the genre of game targeted and considering that it is the fourth-most successful game franchise then it undoubtedly persuaded more players to try their hands at online casino.

    Red Dead Redemption

Sticking with the same makers, they produced this memorable game that has been greeted with acclaim from critics and fans alike. Once again they venture into the casino industry, but this part it is actually a part of the game's story. As opposed to being a current-day first-person game, this classic sees players control their character during the Western days. Hopes were high among gamers and producers as it was one of the most expensive games ever made; but after nine years, it's safe to say that it has exceeded all expectations.

In the game, you're able to sit down and play a few rounds of poker. It offers the player a chance to cheat the game to win more money; however, if they are caught, then the risk is your character not being able to walk away. As is always the case with casinos; honesty is the best policy.

    Fallout: New Vegas

One of the most recent enjoyable casino-gaming partnerships was released in 2010 and allows the player to control a character following an apocalypse in 2077. It has been greeted with positive feedback across the board and has sold over eleven million copies worldwide.

As you can imagine from the name, the game features Las Vegas, and that plays into the casino sector perfectly. The ability for the player to play their favourite casino games with a surreal backdrop of the remains of Vegas is a unique gaming experience. However, players must be aware that all is not what it seems and certainly isn't as safe as gambling with online casinos.
