The one designed last year that I have secret video of it, was using a LCD screen on portal itself instead of PC software.

But it was more costly of course to make it totally stand-alone, so the new team took over changed the name and reduced the cost.

The current 'limit' reminds me on Sky3DS, maybe its the same team or coders. All I know is original coder whom was with 3k3y originally sold out his 'softlanders' code that he designed last year.

Sadly the actual public info on how to do this yourself has been buried in tons of legal red tape long time ago by Activision when Brandon Wilson (the ticalc guru) publicized the actual decryption info on here and another site, and it all got quickly taken down asap by their lawyers.

So we see how this device lasts, but now its totally based in China, and they going to ship it without software and you will find the anonymous keys buried on the 'net for it, etc.

 

If you look you notice it is the same hardware that datel is selling except that their package software does amiibo toys instead of skylanders.

 

anyone know if the software come preloaded with characters, or is it a case of backing up any characters you can get your hands on.

It will be later. -- Due to legal reasons, we already getting 'heat' from Activision to remove this thread. -- In the past when we published the editor tool and decrypting source, we got hit full force with court orders and legal action to remove the code.

But don't worry, sets of complete toys and advance units have been in hands of selected private testers for a few months now, and in the near to release in June, you will see 'scene' packages of various 'toys' leaking onto the underground 'net in similar fashion how iso's of games get pre'd by scene groups.

You will be in good hands, and this combined with the editor v2.1 tool which you can still find from good sites like EurAsia, you will be able to modify the data before writing it back to blank white nfc token chips that resellers will be selling in packs of 5, 10, 25 depending on your needs, or you can write it back to your own existing toys destroying the original data on it.
