    Hello,

Are there any limitations on the size or type of MicroSD card which can be used with the StarGate 3DS cart? Or is there a particular speed recommended?

I've found a class 10 512GB MicroSD card for a reasonable price, and was considering getting it.. would it work well with the StarGate 3DS cart?

    Thank you,
    Chimeforest

I use a SanDisk Extreme 128GB Micro SD card on my Stargate 3DS, currently using exFat format on it too. Knowing you mentioned 512GB I am going to assume that is Samsung, I do not recommend Samsung Micro SD cards for flashcarts. They work well for mobile devices like androids but for flashcarts yea not so much. I had one that was 512GB and well it died in a week, just think, that was brand new lol. SanDisk is the best option for flashcarts since most carts have less issues with this brand. I have tried Kingston as well, that died running off an Acekard 2i lol, don't waste your time with that haha. SanDisk may not have 512GB yet but once they do you can bet they will last quite a long time.

I've just tried a class 10 512GB card found on wish.com for something like £6 that I've put one 3DS rom onto, it seems to work perfectly. It's branded Verbatim but you never know from Wish XD
I got 3 cards at once, a 64, 128 and 512GB size. So far tried smallest and largest and both worked.

Never buy sd cards from wish. It is for sure not true 512GB at that price, usually 8-32gb at best but appears as 512. Try adding more stuff on card and you will see. And 512 is not yet possible on a micro, they still stuck at 200/256. 512 only for regular sd card.

Sandisk do have a 400GB MicroSD card out, but you're probably right the 512GB is a fake. Still, it cost about as much as a normal 16GB so if it has at least that capacity it's all good. I'll give it a test with H2TestW if I can find it.

Oh, my bad. I see now 400gb micro was released 5 months back. I have been using same reply since Swirch was released because everyone has been asking for memory beyond the 200/256gb since then. Please update when u know actual size on your card, always good to know.

I guess it could be cyclically overwriting data mind you - I'll only know for sure once the verify completes
