The banning hammer at Microsoft is working overtime right through the Christmas period! Reports have come forth that they are banning homebrew enabled Xbox 360's over the festive period, which is hardly a surprise considering MS.

It looks like Microsoft started banning homebrew Xbox 360 (running freeBOOT or XBReboot) from Xbox LIVE. This was of course highly expected to happen any time soon.

There are many ways for Microsoft to detect these modifications, no stealth or anything was implemented (nor is there any will from the dev community to do this considering it would even be possible).
Homebrew and Xbox LIVE don't go together, nor should they proba

Really? Does MS really think they are hurting someone? I would trade in live for homebrew enabled 360 anyday.

Microsoft sees all ;) it was assumed this would happen but it was worth people trying. Maybe in the distant future if/when newer 360s are hacked and robots rule the earth someone will see to this problem.

Related but off topic, did anyone mess with the 360 boot visuals yet? would be great to have purple flubber on boot :p

I don't understand something. Don't you have to decline an update to get the home brew working? Doesn't live kick you off if you decline the update? wouldnt the update wipe out homebrew? How are people getting banned?

its funny cuz you obviously have no idea what a homebrew enabled 360 does or is.

3x? sure its not higher? heh.

Millions. For every one Xbox 360 banned, two will be sold!

Anyone that goes online with a homebrew enabled 360 is stupid as they've been told specificly not to go online.

Really... you think I don't know?

you sure it's not lower... a LOT lower?

Seeing as there is not even 6 million units difference between the 2 anymore... ever think of that?

If ANYONE went on XBL with a JTAG xbox, they deserve to be banned purely out of stupidity.
