Also features better wi-fi and controller.

The Ouya gets double the storage and a 'refined' controller. On sale now for $30 more than the original version.

Just under a year since the launch of the first model, Ouya is introducing a new 16GB version of its Android-based games console.

Priced at $129.99 — $30 more than the base model, it also features better WiFi connectivity and a "refined" controller (yep, the rest is the same):

The only thing this thing is good for is hacking XBMC onto it and using it as a Hub Device behind a Sever. Or NAS Box. Its comical that Amazon thinks that it can make Money by flogging its own brand of crap based on the same idea. Flaws and all.. I've said it time, and again the only People that could make this concept work are Apple. With the ATV...

Then again now that I think about it did Amazon have plans to push Video over their Box too, or just Games?! Android Games are FAIL! then again I suppose the same could be said for iOS Games. But, a Video Hub that could do cheap Mobile Games al-la the ATV could possibly work. Apple wouldn't even have to do much work to even make it a thing either. Which begs the question... What are they waiting for?!

Even then unless the content is HD there are cheaper alternatives e.g. Xbox 1 or a NowTV with Plex (it's a gimped Roku but they kept the developer mode so you can sideload it).

      ...Think cheaper

As Raspberry Pi or Beagle Bone Black, credit card sized Linux computers. Raspberry uses an SD card as a Hard Drive, so you could have a few different Linux distros just a card swap away.

Not even that now, the NOOB package allows multiple installs onto the same card.

Has the build of XBMC been improved since? last time I tried it (dec 12) it was dodgy.

BTW, just in case anyone's interested, the NowTV is £10 and Xboxs £10-30+ on ebay (just remember to search "original Xbox").

Although the Pi will offer more advantages if it works.

They really don't seem to want to make themselves attractive compared to the now abundant competition.
