ITU examines future of video gaming

A large international think-tank, predicts the next-gen will have to be ONE BOX, will Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, Apple, Google agree?

Everone wants to be the king-of-the-hill, #1 in sales and world marketplace share, the big 3, Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft have been fighting it out in the consumer arena for best share of the pie for years, and now even Apple and Google with their mobile gaming push on new high-tech smartphones, it is an outright 5 way war.

So ITU thinks the only way we see an next-gen of Video Gaming is if everone gets together an agrees on one-platform, one-system, one-way, an all-in-one, does everything in one box system.

Sony already tried with their original slogan of "It Does Everything", when launching the PS3 the first with blu-ray, and then with netflix, but now M$ has been pulling ahead of their game and signing up cable tv, paid tv, live events, left and right, trying to make their Xbox 360, the one box you need!

Whereas Nintendo has gone 100% the other way, still focus on it does GAMING, not even allowing their top-selling Wii to play DVD movies!

Is this think-tank right in their thinking, or do you think in year or two, consumers will be ready again to throw down $500 to $600 or more on the next-gen Console of THEIR choice, be it Sony, or Microsoft, or Nintendo, as it seems Apple has no problem each year selling out a little better iPhone!
