Downing's latest console mod looks cool!

Downing has done many other 'portable' mods and this one he takes the new Android OUYA and makes it almost look like a Wii U GamePad, all portable with full operation including screen, buttons, etc.

Checking out Downing's Basement recently, I came across this neat case-mod project, and it takes a OUYA and makes it portable:

Personally, I would to see him use an actual Wii U GamePad case, but still it does look cool, makes the OUYA more useful! :)

"imitation is the most sincere form of flattery"

Too bad it isn't ergonomic like Wii U pad thou. Also note that Wii U touch pad can be dropped on floor without braking.

Why didn't he try make a driver to work with a Wii U pad instead? Its superior to this one.
Wii U Pad uses WI-FI, so its not that hard.

      Some Gamepad trivia:

Wii U Gamepad (WI-FI) with touch screen + the newest battery (8 hours) lasts 1 hour more than a PS4 pad without anything sucking battery!
Wii U Pro pad (Bluetooth 4.0) lasts 80 hours.
PS4 Gamepad is only 7 hours (BT 3.0)
Xbox One battery life is said to be good, but depends on brand of AA batteries you use.

Note that Xbone uses the battery sucking BT 3.0, and requires Kinect to power it down when not in use.
If Xbone used BT 4.0 like Wii U, it wouldn't suck power at all when idling.

Of all new controllers, only PS4 Gamepad don't support battery replacement.
Why did Sony use a cheap shit battery in gamepad which can't be replaced?

The reason why Wii U Pro pad lasts 80 hours is said to be because it uses Bluetooth 4.0 instead of 3.0 like PS4 and Xbone uses.

Bluetooth 4.0 was basically made to suck much less power.

My Galaxy Note 3 can have BT 4.0 On all day without sucking any battery at all when idling.

BT 3.0 sucks battery all the time, so why didn't MS and Sony use BT 4.0 when they knew Wii U had it 1 year in advance?

Watch the ccc conference on hacking the gamepad to know why its not that easy to make a driver.

      Ok then.

Wii U Pro pad was atleast quickly supported in Windows right after Wii U release. That one uses Bluetooth 4 thou, and not WI-FI.
I tried Wii U Pro pad over 1 year ago on PC, and it worked nice.
