PS4 just like XB1 will need a Day ONE update!

If you thought you could just plug in and play your PlayStation 4 on day one, sorry to break the bad news but you have to wait until firmware update v1.50 installs first, but thankfully its only 300mb

If you unboxing your PlayStation 4 during the holiday season, make sure you going to do it nearby where you have nice fast stable Internet connection, as your shiny new black box by Sony will need to load up v1.50 of its system software before you can make full usage of all its features, here is the details:

Wow, look at that list, not even Blu-Ray or DVD movies will PLAY until you ACTIVATE your PS4 online and install this update!

Unlike with Xbone, PS does NOT need this update, to play games offline.

      So, FUD?

It needs to set the region, so hence why you cannot play BR-D without updating, and the games are region free. Update 1.51 just came out, there were some instabilities with the 1.50 firmware (even saw it in a review for BF4 testing on a PS4). I was glad that they fixed some of the bugs beforehand. Was having a hell of a time with that corrupted save data issue and just getting to the online modes on Ghosts. Now just for an update for CD's, MP3's and hopefully MP4's. They left that out too. They said that they wanted to concentrate on getting the games to work online at launch, so they left that out but raised a lot of bad opinions about leaving it out, so I guess there will be another update reguarding audio.
