This is for 4.60 and 4.65 only.

    It will replace the files:

    videoeditor_plugin.sprx

    videoplayer_plugin.sprx

    videoplayer_util.sprx

so backup your files first if you want.

This will not remove Cinavia from optical disc based media.

why do people keep insisting on replacing all 3 of these files: videoeditor_plugin.sprx & videoplayer_util.sprx are the exact same files on DEX or CEX. the only file that needs replacing is videoplayer_plugin.sprx.

Because the guy that came up with the method in the first place said he traced Cinavia in all three files. I'm just doing what he said, and I have never had any issues with it.

This is what tical said back in 2011:

If that is quoted from PS3DevWiki please read a little bit further as more tests have been done and the md5 check of the first 2 files I mentioned match CEX/DEX

Edit: I've personally check them myself to verify what I read and they do

    Edit2: http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Cinavia_(DRM)

Nah, the quote is from his thread on psx-scene.

From what I can tell all three files are different between 4.60 OFW and the cinavia remover I posted(4.60 DECR files).

Additionally, between 4.60cex and 4.65cex videoplayer_plugin.sprx and videoplayer_util.sprx are different however videoeditor_plugin.sprx remains the same on both versions.

different from my findings 4.60/4.65 CEX have the same 3 file (confirmed twice) but 4.60/4.65 CEX are different from 4.60 DECR

You are correct sir, 4.60 and 4.65 do have the same 3 files, apparently puad gui had an issue with the language files installed on my ps3 and was somehow corrupting the extracted files.

I still think only the one file is needed as we're dealing with DECR and not DEX because if it were DEX then the other 2 would more than likely match in hash as they have since 3.41 (or sooner, haven't check back further)
