I am fairly late to the GameCube party, but i am now looking into getting myself a system, after enjoying the games on my modded Wii U.
The Qoob Pro seems to be the best Modchip for this system and this forum used to have a section dedicated to it.
Since it has been out of production for so long it is very difficult to find a system with the chip in it.
Does anyone know a way to still get a hold of one?

And yes, i signed up just because this used to be the Forum for the Qoob.
If i can't find one here, where can i?

I have been trying for a while now to find a Gamecube equipped with a Qoob Pro chip.
I tried eBay (only two recent auctions and i bid to slowly) and other Forums, but so far i have had little luck.
My google search led me here, since Maxconsole used to host the official Qoob Forum back in the day and i had hopes that this may help me in buying one.

I would pay via PayPal and pay for insured shipping with Tracking.

Sadly, when Brakken had a falling out as the GC mod here it took all the Qoob posts and forum with him to his new site Tekskeen, which has been gone for a while since his mental breakdown over not being able to handle all the mud-slinging and hacking attempts during the very bad scene war between rival sites, I miss him, he was good friend and we used to chat daily back in the day.

Anyhow, back to your search for Qoob Pro chip, sadly the chips have long long been gone from the market, only GC chips you can still find these days is:

    http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/xeno-gc-gamecube-modchip.html

They of course not as good, but they do job that is needed when it comes to running GC backups, but if you looking to do more, I suggest you into other ways of 'enhancing the gamecube'.

    Good luck with your search.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me!
I did not know any of this and i think it is always sad when personal issues lead someone down a path of unhappiness.
I know about the Xeno-line and here in germany you can get those in a 10pack for 28€.
I don't just want any modded Gamecube tho.
I used to have one with a Qoob Pro back when i was younger and had to sell that one to help my mother make rent.
Now i want to buy back all the consoles i lost back then.
I got a PS2 with a Crystal chip in November.
Now i need a Gamecube with a Qoob Pro.
I know that isn't exactly logical, perhaps not even relatable... but nostalgia rarely is either of those things.

EDIT: Just to clarify. Those are chinese copies of the Xeno. NOT the authentic chips. I also heard that quality-control on them is "questionable" to put it mildly.

Even back in the day, Xeno was the low-end of GC modding, just a chip to get it going, nothing special, and not the best. -- But most of the quality problems come with 'soldering it in place', even back the day, i would rather use bits of wires, instead of their 'quick-soldering mount'.

EDIT: Check out this good site run by a friend of mine @modrobert

    http://www.EurAsia.nu

He is heavy into the 'retro consoles' and his file library contains every single file every release for many of the older consoles including the Qoob and Crystal chips, etc.

He wouldn't happen to have any Qoob Pro for sale, now would he? ; )
    I'd even mod it myself!

You're better off modding a wii u. I have a modded wii u and i can play wii, wii u & gamecube backups off a external hdd. its easy to mod a wii u and the wii u consoles are really cheap now.

Thanks for that piece of advice. I absolutely agree with you and... i have already done that quite a while ago ; )
Before that i had a modded Wii which served the same purpose.
I however do this for Nostalgia, not just for functionality.

Yeah. If you wanted the best it really would be dolphin emulator on high end pc playing games with enhanced graphics.

In this case its for the pure original modded way.
