There are bunch of cores i been testing. Let me know if you need any info on anything in particular.

Also I think there is a new way to get the In-Game menu up (L1+R1)

Yeah, there has been some major changes in the PS3 version. Including a new in game menu, specific core options and up to 8x shaders at a time :D

I have also been testing the experimental cores on the android version.

All of the official cores have compiled fine. fMSX, e-UAE, Hatari and Caprice32 have also compiled (18 cores in total :D)
I haven't had a chance to PKG and test them yet as I am having to re-install the SDKs etc as I go.

Hopefully, I will have it tested and posted tomorrow or Sunday

If pete_uk can meet me (Squarepusher) on Skype tomorrow then we could look at getting the CEX version out.

    Hopefully that can be arranged.

Awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing the specific core options - it's about the only feature from the standalones that haven't been incorporated into RetroArch yet. Being able to set input/dipswitch settings on a individual game basis (FBA core) will especially be nice.

EDIT - Um, forget that last sentence - when I was looking at the changelog, it said that various core options were added to FBA (enter service mode, reset, etc.) I guess I got excited and read it too fast - oops...:)

If anyone is wondering what happened to their save games (not savestates), RetroArch now looks for .srm files in a new directory called savefiles.

    Works fantastic!

However I came across one odd bug that seems to only affect the PCE core.

When running a PCE CD game, loading the first works perfectly. Exit that game and go to load a 2nd, and the 1st game loads up again instead.

    For example:
Load and play Super Air Zonk. Play for anhour. Get bored. Decide to play another game.
Exit Super Air Zonk, and load Beyond Shadowgate. Super Air Zonk loads again instead.

Try to load any other game, and Super Air Zonk loads every time. The only way to get it to stop is to either reload the core, or exit retroarch completely and re-enter.

This behavior repeats regardless of what the 1st game loaded is. Whatever it is, persists until core is reloaded or retroarch is restarted.

I have tried other cores, and have NOT come across this issue. Seems only the PCE core is affected.
Likewise, previous builds did not have this issue either. Seems only the 0.9.9 has the issue. Possibly something to do with the new game history log?

New versions of RetroArch are out for PC, Android, and iOS - with a new MAME core. This probably doesn't mean the PS3 version is close to being done, but still, good news for those people with these platforms.

Hello guys, a little question, Satellaview roms are not supported by the Snes9x Next Core ?

I tried the PS3 0.9.9 version and the latest Android version but when I try to launch Satellaview Roms I have a crash.

But if I use the standalone PS3 version of Snes9X (1.4.9) all is ok.

Maybe need a bios in a place ?

    Thanks for your help.

    ;)

Edit: I can launch the BS-X bios without crash but all other BS Roms crash...

New point release of RetroArch Android is out with a few new cores - Desmume (NDS, not likely on PS3), Stella (Atari 2600), and Picodrive (some Sega thing). Square is a busy guy...

Square is a very busy guy along with all the other RetroArch and Libretro Developers.

Stella - will work on PS3 fine.

PicoDrive would be cool on the PS3 as that has 32x support if am not mistaken. Not sure how that would work on the PS3.

Didn't mean to dis the other people involved with RetroArch and Libreto - henceforth, I shall use the term "Team RetroArch" in the future.

Yes, Picodrive has 32X support - I had originally thought that it was a system/console, not an emulator. Also new in RetroArch Android is QuickNes (currently broken), and the regular, non-Next version of SNES9x.

There is a MAME core included with the leaked RetroXMB. I've been messing with it the last few days, and I've got to say it is very polished - moreso than the MAME 0.125 port - despite the fact that it hasn't even been optimized for PS3 yet.

Which version of MAME ROMs should be used with it? 0.125? 0.78?
