A year after the grand release of the friendly neighbourhood ‘Spiderman’ for PlayStation4, here is all about its journey and what may the future have. Read on!

Spiderman needs no introduction to anyone who has ever experienced entertainment in any of the mediums be it books, movies or games.

Insomniac Games, a major game production company, released a PlayStation4 game based on the heroics of Spiderman in September last year. All you need to do to get started with this game is to buy a copy of it and start playing, just like mobile free spins are the best way to start playing mobile casino games.

Here is all about the PS4 game after a year of its venture.

    The success story

In the first few months of its release, Spiderman proved itself to be a revolution in the gaming category of entertainment. The success of this game can be well understood by comparing the profits of the game to the 2018 movie Spiderman - Homecoming’s opening week collection. The game surpassed the movie’s profit in just the first three days after the launch on 7th Sept, 18.

The game went onto become a record-breaker with millions of copies being sold each week. By the end of 2018, a humongous 91 million copies were already sold of this open-world game. However, the game was entitled a record-breaker even before accomplishing this benchmark. The game broke all the previous records of pre-orders by one million copies being ordered before the release. Spiderman PS4 proved to be the fastest-selling first-party release by its rights owning company, Sony.

    The reason behind this success

The Spiderman game that became the success of its own style has its reasons to become so. The enthralling depiction of New York City is on a level of close to perfection. The glittery skyscrapers, elevated trains and the Times Square are just a few areas of excellence of the entirely explorable island. Spiderman’s all-time favourite, the web sling, is easy-to-learn and realistic that any comic lover will never like to get on the ground after learning it. The fight moves include the famous hitting and dodging the people have been witnessing of Spiderman in the comics and movies.

Coming to the game premise and story building, this is a factor where the game loses some points. The beginning of the game is engaging and never fails to amaze you. But with the progression of the game and chapters to unfold, the absence of popular antagonists like Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin and Electra for the most part of the game makes it a little boring for the player to stick around. The fighting sequences are a bit messy and objectives in the mid-story of the game are less appealing as compared to the splendid start and the dazzling end.

Apart from this, the game has a lot more plus-points to be talked about. The close to perfection design, a Spiderman that is loved by all and supporting characters’ representation.

    What the future holds

The Spiderman PS4 was one of the biggest releases of last year that fetched great reviews from the critics as well as the players. The success of this game is undeniable and unquestionable, considering the reasons for its success. So how could fans end up without asking for more?

Although Insomniac has not formally announced a sequel to this game yet, chances are high that the sequel is on its way owing to the global appreciation of the game. There have been speculations by the experts that the sequel might have two Spidermen to double the fun, going by the climax of the prime game. Prominent antagonists like Venom and Green Goblin are supposed to be in the game more evidently. The second part could also have the much-awaited black suit for the favourite superhero which can make fans go gaga over it.

Whatever the future has for the game, Spiderman for PS4 is a gaming revolution of its own kind. It has redefined the bars of expectations for future gaming consoles.
