    I second this!

Also, here's a few things that piss me off:

    - People who use "political correctness" and "piracy" as excuses so that they can be hypocritical and basically behave in a cunt-headed fashion.

    - People who cry for the "open-source movement", yet they don't act upon the whole concept of "open-source" themselves.

My 4 year old son is going to elemantary school only since a couple of months.
When you turn 4 in my country you can go to school... dunno how this is taken care of in other country's.

And i only recently found out he's getting picked on by some of the other kids in his class.
Now i know it's probably just testing him because he is the new kid, but that is just something that's really pissing me off.

i you are a parent then you know the feeling... you just want the best for your kids and for them to feel good.

Eh, it's a delicate issue. Bullying can do serious damage to a kids mind. Anyone who says words can't hurt you is just being ignorant. I've seen it with my own eyes. The problem is, people don't take it seriously enough. I even heard one moron say "It builds character"... derp! I've been on the giving and receiving end. It's bad for both parties. We're supposed to be instilling values such as honesty and tolerance in our kids. Bullying does the opposite. Remember, that's your baby out there. Don't let anyone fuck with him.

If you kid (like mine) is able to punch back and gain respect, without any Director or staff help, amen. After all, his future when 18y old will be worst.
If you kid is not able to help himself, nor find someone who will protect him, you should go to talk with the Director about this problem, and if necessary threating him of a sue against the school and staff. Could help. If staff doesn't care, you picked a trashy school, change school for your kid.
Last suggestion, is find the kid and kick his ass. His father will pop, if you're able to kick him too, do it hard. If not, warn him of a sue.
Be sure noone can see you when kicking his kid's ass.

Usually the formal suggestion, the first i wrote, is the best choice. Change school with a better one, helps too.

Yep, bullying sucks big time, especially when you are the victim - heck, I was bullied a lot back in my secondary (high) school days, with lame racial slurs like "Paki" and so on. Worst thing is, whenever I complained about that issue, the school had a bad habit of downplaying the whole situation, effectively telling me to "just ignore them" - "errr what the fuck?" sprung to my mind.

This then led to me acting like a dick so that I could get expelled, as I felt that they weren't helpful so I thought "I wanna get out of here", and come December 2000, my ass was out of there, and I was out of education for approximately a year, until January 2002, in which I have gone back into education.

Like everyone says, bullying is an issue that CANNOT be ignored, and I can't stress this enough.

That really sucks gDrive that you hated being at school so much you felt you had to get yourself expelled. I've been bullied too (but not as bad as being racially bullied which really is scum sucking low). My parents used to move quite a lot while I was going through primary and secondary schooling so I was always 'the new kid' everyone picked on. Although I was big for my age, i was the quiet shy type which only added to my woes. I couldn't tell the teachers (who pretty much knew what was going on), as there was a 'code' back then that you couldn't be a 'stool pigeon'. Eventually matters got to a head and I ended up putting a kid in hospital. The bullying stopped at that point but there no way I would ever recommend this way of sorting problems out to anyone.

You got to tell someone. Parents first. Also (thankfully), most schools these days encourage this and will act on bullying ('cause if they don't they know they can get sued), so I would strongly recommend anyone in this situation do this. I certainly have told my kids to.

Really glad you showed those bullies by going back to school gDrive!

Hey JJM, sux that your kid is being picked on and I don't really have anything to add. I gotta say, I started at 4 and remember being picked on, new suburb and new kids. Really I just made friends with other kids and didn't fight back, it worked for me and I have good memories. I'm not sure whether I would had have the same memories had have I gotten into fights. Mind you, I did make one kid do the "Indian rain dance"
