That's why the planned release of 'La-Mulana' was cancelled.

According to indie publisher Nicalis (Cave Story, NightSky), WiiWare sales are in decline and have reached the stage of being 'almost non-existent'.

Nicalis is an indie publisher, best known for the ports and remakes of Cave Story on WiiWare, DSiWare and Steam. They also ported the japanese PC retro-platformer La-Mulana and was released on the japanese WiiWare last year.

Well, the company had planned to release this title to NA and Europe, however they've cancelled it as it is "near impossible to sell sufficient units on WiiWare" to guarantee a return. So, it will never be released outside of Japan.

I guess this WiiWare sales decline was expected. So, what do you think?
