First foreign hacker ever to be sentenced in the USA
David Pokora, 22, of Ontario, Canada was sentenced to 18 months in prison in a Delaware federal court. The sentence, a first of its kind, comes as the U.S.A. tries to grapple with major cyber threats.
We reported before on the fall-out from the hackers like SuperDAE and SonicISO that were trading early info on the Xbox One while it was in development stages back, and finally one of the so-called 'ring-leaders' an Canadian one has become the first ever hacker from another country to spend the next couple of years in a USA prison for his role in the operation.
Of course the above is mainstream media way of painting how 'bad this person' was. But really it is far from the truth, if it was not for Aussie-based hacker SuperDAE turning into RAT and double-agent and keeping his friends in dark while it help to bury them into the hole more by feeding everything to FBI, and if it was not for FBI being nasty and playing dirty tricks with a Canadian 'car auto parts' store to make sure on purpose David had to drive in to USA on his own to pickup a needed part to repair his car (his second love, besides computers/gaming/hacking) then he would not become an poster example of how these 'bad horrible hackers' are.
And also all this talk about fake Xbox One consoles is real expansion of fancy words, all they were was Gateway PC wth video card and software installed that matched the same setup that Microsoft themselves were using on their first Alpha development machines, far from actual Xbox One, it was just PC not even setup as good was PC's that M$ used at E3 later on to trick people into thinking it was an Xbox One running the games.
Oh'well, soon we see how the next case turns out being 'Sanadodeh Nesheiwat' (aka) 'SonicISO'.
